A hyena and a winged woman stood calmly in the centre of a battle, solemn faces as they looked upon what they caused.

"Why must we do this, Miracyn?" The angel's sweet voice murmured like the shush of the ocean. "Why must we bring about death as such?"

The hyena turned to look at the maiden with wise eyes but not wise enough, for the real meaning behind her words were lost. No one but the woman could hear what Miracyn said, no one could hear.

"I do not wish to kill as we do, even now my blood demands it. Wickedness descends upon my soul as men upon gold." she murmured, turning away from a severed arm straight faced to look at another man being impaled. "Come, shall we go?"

The hyena through its head skyward, cackling into the wind, summoning it down to the pair. The winged-woman took flight with the hyena running on wind behind her, neither glanced at the battle beneath as they fled.

Up to a mountain and toward a homely cave they went in silence, only the wind rushing past given pardon for its sound. Quiet as a mouse, they perched on the rocky cliff ledge. Forlornly watching the sun set red on the horizon, marking many deaths that night.

Turning to the cave they closed their minds to further grief but not for the dead and dying, for the reason behind their pain. They knew what they did was necessary in its own twisted way. This was how the balance was kept, not with peace but death, the Kkräl and their Myrïn offering humble blood for the soil and moon. That's what they'd always believed, that's what they'll always believe.

But even as the Kkräl believe man must kill each other, they want to kill them themselves, to revel in the feel of thrusting their fist through a human's chest. The Kkräl, the Angels of Death, crave to make someone suffer themselves, it's the cause and reason of their existence, it is their purpose.

The Kkräl were commonly called the Messengers of Hell or Angles of Death. They're conceived from a human's misery driven lust, with enough suffering it is born with the Kkräl curse. When internal pain meddles with lust it festers into something terrible an wicked, simply described as a maddening desire for more suffering. More simply known as bloodlust.

But such things are foolish in their eyes, either they're are demons of sin or the enlightened sword of balance. The Myrïn chose to teach them the latter rather then tell them the sad truth.

Myrïn, like that one thought, wanted Kkräl to go against their desires but misunderstood they wanted to be the flames, not the spark. Myrïn were born not so simply as a companion for the Kkräl to ground them with logic and wisdom. The second side of the coin to balance chaos. Spirit familiars, as they call themselves, are somewhat an ancient intellectual energy tied to a corrupt human. When the Kkräl is being spawned it's energy is incredibly severe and powerful to increase the suffering of their bearer and thus strengthen their power, causing an aura that attracts the energy, the spirit, of a Myrïn. The energies of the two counter and twist into each other and as they grow a Myrïn takes on a form to disguise itself in the era.

Myrïn want to help the Kkräl, to ease their pain with the knowledge from their mysteriously kept memories that accompany them through resurrection, but energies don't die, only change.

Tarnyx's POV

I watched as Seina fought in the battle she caused. She was laughing as she killed anyone close enough to her twin blades, despite which side they were on. I don't think even the human soldiers know who they were fighting and why.
