A/N: I'm sorry this chapter is pretty long but it's worth it in the end please trust me! Hope you all like the story so far!!:)

Hours passed with an occasional call to make sure Mildred was there. After a little while, she told you she had to just walk a lap around the hallway so Nurse Bucket wouldn't know she was waiting with you while you stayed in the dark room all alone.

"Y/n. I'm sorry I'll be back in just a few minutes. I don't want Nurse Bucket seeing me waiting around here. I'm sorry I'll only be a moment."

"O-okay." You stuttered, tears filling your eyes. You had your forehead on your knees, hunched into a ball. A few minutes later you hear a knock. You quickly stand up and lean against the door.

"Mildred?"

The door opens and you stumble into Nurse Bucket. You look up at her with fear and Mildred rushed over.

"Your time is up, Miss y/l/n." Mildred said sternly. "I can handle it from here, Nurse Bucket."

Nurse Bucket huffed, knowing she had to take orders from Nurse Ratched now that she was head nurse. She walks away, leaving you and Nurse Ratched alone.

"I believe there's a dance you should be getting ready for, my dear." Nurse Ratched whispered, caressing your cheek with the back of her hand. You nodded and she took your hand, starting to walk you to the lobby.

"Is Edmund Tolleson really attending?" You suddenly questioned nervously. Nurse Ratched keeps her focus forward but her expression quickly changed.

"Everyone is attending." She stated. You nodded and were met with Dolly at the front desk, applying lipstick. Mildred let go of your hand.

"Nurse Dolly. You are dismissed to get ready for the dance." Nurse Ratched stated with a subtle smile.

"Thank you Nurse Ratched. Come on y/n!"

Dolly grasped your hand and brought you to your room where three dresses were hanging up. You spot Lily sitting on your bed as well. She smiles as you come in.

"Look who decided to come!" Lily chimed. You smile as you sit down on the bed next to her. Dolly has her arms crossed and looks you up and down. She smiles and nods as she heads to the curtains that were holding the dresses.

"I think purple would look beautiful on you, y/n." Dolly smiled as she picked up a long, lavender slip dress. You smile at the sight of it. Dolly hands it to you and you bring it to the bathroom to put it on. You zip it up and slightly smile at yourself in the mirror. You go back into your room and Dolly claps her hands. Lily blushes as she scans your body with her eyes. You pretend not to notice and brush out imaginary wrinkles.

Dolly walks to you and starts playing with your hair, trying to figure out how she wanted to style it. "Okay Lily, you can get changed and I'm going to start y/n's hair and makeup." Lily nodded and took her dress to the bathroom to put it on. You sat in a chair, looking in your mirror as she started curling your hair.

"Lily seemed to like your dress." Dolly smirked looking at you in the mirror in front of you.

"Yeah... It's a pretty dress, Dolly." You say, looking down, slipping on your long white gloves. knowing exactly what she was implying.

"Relax y/n, I won't tell anyone. We're friends."

Dolly smiled as she put a pearl necklace on you.
Lily came out of the bathroom in her dress and your eyes went wide. She looked so beautiful. Her  blue dress brought out her icy blue eyes just perfectly.

"Lily you look stunning." You smiled. She blushed and looked down at her feet.

"Thank you, y/n."
