IZUKU POV:
This was it. The final text had been sent, and my girlfriend was gone for the week. Whilst I was happy that she'd be honing her skills away from distractions, I couldn't help but feel sad she had to go.
To make matters worse, it was the summer holidays and I had nothing to do now. I'd usually spend this time with Kyo, but that was obviously no longer an option.
'Now that I think about it, what do I do without Kyo?' I thought to myself.
I guess that guitar was a hobby thanks to Kyo, but other than that and hanging with her I had nothing!
'Well I better think of something, or I'll spend the whole summer bored.' I thought to myself.
I looked outside to see the sun shining in its usual bright fashion, and decided to go for a walk.
"Mom! I'm gonna go for a walk!" I announced, slipping on my shoes.
I sighed as I heard no reply. I knew she'd heard me, but recently she'd been far more quiet and distant.
I pondered on it more as I left the apartment, closing the door behind me and leaving the apartment complex.
The day I was diagnosed, I became more closed off from my Mom. It was mainly since she shared everyone else's view, of me not being able to be a hero. But now more than ever, things have become even more closed off.
She never looks at me anymore, never says anything unless spoken to, and to make matters worse she is working more than ever.
'It almost feels like she's avoiding me.' I thought to myself as I walked down the street.
Usually I wouldn't mind being left alone, as it would give me more time with Kyo. However this time she was the only person I could talk to without being called a slur. We couldn't dance around one another for ever.
'I've decided' I silently announced to myself. 'I'm going to fix my relationship with my mother!'
TIME SKIP!!!!!!!!
It was an hour before dinner, and I decided that I'd make dinner for us. Mom was out at work since they'd called her last minute for help, so I had all the time in the world.
I was making Katsudon, since Kyo told me I was good at making it. As I prepared the meal, my mind drifted back to another time I had that meal.
Flashback:
I was in heaven.
Me and Kyo were snuggling on the sofa whilst eating Katsudon. I'd decided to take advantage of my Mom's absence, and have a nice dinner date with Kyo.
Kyo immediately jumped at the offer and even came over early!
"Y'know Izu" Kyo said, interrupting my thoughts. "Even though I've been to your house twice now, I've never seen your Mom."
I turned towards Kyo and held onto her a little tighter than usual.
"Y-yeah um, she's kinda busy most of the time." I lied.
Kyo frowned at this and jabbed me with her Jack.
"Liar." She said with a pout, whilst glaring at me. "I didn't even need my quirk to tell that you were lying Izu."
I sighed and stopped eating.
"Me and my Mom haven't had a decent conversation since I was four." I said with a sigh, sinking ito the sofa.
Kyo sat up and stared in disbelief.
"What about your Dad?" She asked, clearly concerned.
"Working abroad, I haven't seen him for years."
