War|Chapter 26|

Vanessas POV

It's been 2 days since I've last heard of him.It was Monday and i was getting ready,my eyes swollen from not getting enough sleep.I was nervous about today,i dont know why.Maybe its the fact i have to face Grayson face to face since but I shouldn't be this nervous.I had gotten dressed up and i packed my things in an organized way.I gave tiger and quirky a kiss on the head before heading to my car,here we go.

I had arrived at the big building,the rusted windows opened as wind flowed in.Shivers went down my spine as I felt the autumn like wind blow past me.I walk up the marble stairs to the entrance and I walk to the main office grabbing my papers and attendance sheet after I clock in.I walk towards room 125 and I enter,the room was empty meaning I was the only one.
      I walk past Grayson's desk and I sit on my chair,shuffling the papers around to organize them.The room was quiet,the only thing you heard was the papers,me writing some notes and the clock ticking from a couple feet away.I check the time,it was almost time to pick up the kids and Grayson wasn't here.Maybe he called in sick to avoid me which I guess is smart I should of done the same to him.I thought to myself for a while before hearing the door knob giggle a bit,making me face the door.

      Grayson burst in,he was carrying a bunch of his working stuff in,he looked like he just woke up.His hair was messy as strands layed directly on his face.His tie wasn't done correctly and well he looked rushed.He walked to his desk placing his stuff down and he fixed his clothing.He was tense,like he was pissed.I didn't want to speak to him so I'm trying to avoid him most of the day,I'll only speak it it's work related.

      I grab the classroom keys and I get ready to head downstairs not saying a word.He saw me getting ready and followed behind me.We arrived downstairs and all the kids were happy to see us making me smile.I swear these kids are amazing it sucks i won't be having them next year.I got one line while Grayson had the other,we quickly went up the stairs to avoid traffic.

      The students were unpacking and I started writing their agenda on the board and as some took out their art book and drew what I asked which was a family portrait.Grayson was typing  intensely on his keyboard.I looked over at him every now and then.He didn't look like he got much sleep due to his eyes being droopy and dark.He looked up but I looked down in time before we could make eye contact.I go to write on the board again but a little boy came up to me.

      "Ms.Merrell can you help me with my coat zipper?"He asked nicely.He was a shy kid,his name was kyle.
      I nodded and I helped him out.He gave me a hug and went back to his desk.I felt Grayson eyes on me but I didn't look at him.I couldn't.

      The students were at lunch and it was just me and Grayson in the room alone.It was silent,an awkward silence to be exact.I still didn't have heart to say anything.

      I heard Grayson clear his throat many times to catch my attention,I look at him. "What Grayson."I ask rolling my eyes.
    "Oh nothing."He continued eating.
"So stop doing that."I suggested annoyed.He should just get it over with.
      "I would only if you would apologize for lying."He placed his fork down.Now I was pissed.
    "I'm not lying Grayson,I told you many times and I had proof,you did it.You could of just apologize for the past."I stand up. "Maybe you should stop lying,because that's all you're doing."I snap at him.
   He slammed his first and got up. "Maybe if you considered my side for once you'll fucking realize that I never dated you back then!Maybe you're just so god damn crazy and making up this bullshit just to mess us up."He snapped at me. "If you want to leave me then go!"
     I was hurt by his words.How could I be lying,there's photo proof.I wanted to leave but I didn't want to seem weak. "If that's what you think of me then fine,we're done!" And that was it,I grabbed my laptop and some papers I needed to keep grading and organizing and I walk out the room,slamming the door and I walk into the teachers lounge.It was the only place I can be in quiet alone.

      He did this to us,to himself,he asked for war.
