Battlefield

They say love is a battlefield, but I'm still alive so don't tell me something that clearly isn't true.

I found love.

I found happiness.

I found a feeling so soothing that even my heartbeats have slowed down.

Every moment of my life has slowed down.

I feel every breath of her on my lips before every single kiss.

Every kiss feels eternal.

I see every eyelash fall slowly in sync with every blink.

Her eyes get brighter with every blink.

And I never stare for too long because I don't like being lost.

She raises the bar of perfection with every movement.

She raises the bar higher and higher.

The bar makes Amsterdam seem low.

She puts the "perfection" in "perfection" and she fills it in nicely.

But the way I see her is the exact same way she sees him...

But...

He doesn't care about making memories

He only cares about making love, but it isn't actually love, it's lust.

There's a fine line between love and lust when it comes to a man with no value.

And he says he has x-ray eyes. He can see right through you, but if he can see right through you, then why is he afraid to tell you he loves you? He should know you love him too.

And no I am not selfish.

I'm not saying you should be mine, but you deserve a man who will treat you at least as well as I would... preferably better than I would.

And you still tell me you love me, but if this is love, then what is hate?

If this is love, then I better stay away.

I mean, what's the point of loving someone if they don't love you back?

Love is not a charity.

Love is not a one-sided benefit.

Nobody gives love just to know that the other individual is happy...
Wait... they do.

But is this the way it should be?

I don't think my faith in us is enough for the both of us.

They say love is a battlefield.

You may make it through the first fight, but you will be sent back to the same battlefield until you lose the fight.

The only way to walk away from war is with your own two feet.
