"You made a cake? I didn't think you could do that", Bucky grinned and gave Ivy a kiss.
"Oh, come on, of course I can. And, it's your birthday. I googled it."
Steve chuckled.
"Well, it looks great, Ivy."
"Thanks, Stevie, but it looks like..."
"Someone stepped on it?", Loki suggested and Ivy punched his arm.
"Shithead! But, yes, it does."
"Oh that's not true. And also: looks aren't everything. You of all people should know that, Loki", Bucky said with a smug smile and Ivy laughed.
"Uuh, it's on."
But Loki just laughed.
"Was enough to pull you", he said to Ivy, she blushed, Bucky took a deep breath, Steve raised his eye brows and Loki disappeared laughing into his room.

"Well...that's a little awkward", Ivy said and scratched the back of her neck.
"I should sleep with his girlfriend", Bucky growled.
"Boyfriend", Ivy corrected him and immediately covered her mouth.
"Fuck! Fuck, fuck, fuck! Why the hell can I never keep my fucking mouth shut? Why? Why, why, why? Don't ever tell me any secrets, guys!"

She sighed and buried her face in her hands.
"Hey, don't worry. I heard nothing", Steve said and winked at her, but Bucky grinned.
"Don't you dare grin at me like that, Barnes, I swear to god..", Ivy began, but he waved it off.

"Don't worry, I'm not an asshole. And I don't care. That just means I don't have to worry about him trying to seduce you."
"You never had to worry about that! You're unbelievable!"
He laughed and gave her a kiss.
"Come on. Let's go out and do something fun."
"Alright. I'm in!"
"Great, but you should put on socks first."
"Ugh. Fine."

She loved running around barefoot all day, even though she always had cold feet - another thing she never noticed though. A sensory issue.
Only Bucky did and kept reminding her of wearing socks when it was cold - she hardly ever did, though.

_
When they got out, it was slightly raining.
Ivy looked up and tried catching some rain drops with her tongue.
James chuckled and put an arm around her.

"You're so cute you know that?"

Ivy laughed and licked over his cheek.
"I know."
"Ew! That's so nasty!", he said laughing and held his face into the rain, which made her laugh even more.
She gave him a kiss, letting her hands run over his neck and he held her for a moment, while the rain was running over their faces.

"That was really romantic", she said when she let go off him eventually and he smirked.
"Yeah, it was."
"Well, Happy Birthday boo."
"Thanks doll."
She winked, gave him another kiss and then took his hand.

"So, what now? What do you wanna do?"
"I don't know. Central Park? The rain is supposed to stop in a minute."
"Sounds good to me. I'll do anything you want."
"Oh you're gonna regret saying that", he grinned.
"Am I though? We'll see. I don't think so."

-

Central Park was not that crowded and surprisingly, the grass wasn't really wet.
The sund had come out and already dried most of it off when they arived there a while later.

James sat down and pulled her onto his lap, burying his face in her neck and she wrapped her arms around him.

"You okay?", she mumbled.
"Yeah, just...every birthday I'm not controlled by Hydra feels...weird. Good, obviously, but...still kinda weird. I've just missed out on so much and I didn't get a chance to live, really."

He looked up and softly stroked her hair out of her face.
"I'm really glad to have you, doll. You make me feel a lot better about myself and I love that. And I love you."
"Oh honey, I love you too. So much."
She laid her lips on his again, and for a minute, they just sat there like that, before she eventually lay down next to him in the grass.
