Mitsuki hid a smile behind his sleeve. Boruto gaped. "Not you too Mitsuki?" Sarada rolled her eyes, scowling. "You're an idiot Boruto. Konohamaru-sensei told us not to touch the stupid thing."
Boruto stuck his tongue out at her. Konohamaru sighed exasperatedly. "Poor Kakashi-san. I can't even fathom how he managed to deal with these three." Mitsuki tilted his head curiously. "What do you mean by that?"
The brunette sensei just shook his head. "Come on you three. Boruto, please let go of that annoying bottle." Boruto let go of the bottle, Sarada diving to catch it.
"Boruto! This is an ancient relic! You need to be careful with it!" Boruto laughed, pointing at her face. "Hey look, now your face is glowing!"
A faint red appeared on her brightly glowing cheeks, the girl quietly putting the relic in her sachet. Mitsuki hummed with amusement as the glowing faded from her face.
"Neh, Konohamaru-sensei, why does the bottle make your face glow anyways?" Konohamaru shrugged. "Ask Shikamaru."
The boy's face lit up. He took off into the village, yelling, "Shikamaru-saaan!" Konohamaru grinned.
Boruto woke up to the smell of sweet, sweet syrup. He lightly sniffed the air, sitting up. "Are those pancakes?"
Sarada nodded eagerly from next to him. "Smells like it. Come on, let's go eat!" She threw the covers off the bed, jumping up to race downstairs. "Last one there's a rotten egg!"
Boruto gaped. "Oi! That's not fair, you had a head start!"

"Mitsuki, wake up." Orochimaru called into his son's room.
The boy gingerly opened up the door, fighting a yawn. "What's going on?" Orochimaru smiled at him, reaching up to pat his head. "You're getting tall." Mistuki's head was nearly at Orochimaru's nose.
Mitsuki giggled. "Thanks dad." Orochimaru sighed. "Listen, Mitsuki, I thought about what you said yesterday."
Mitsuki looked up. "Hm?"
"You're right. You're nearly sixteen already. You should see the outside world." The boy's eyes shot wide open. "Really?"
Orochimaru laughed. "Really." A grin broke out on the albinos face. "Let me change!" Orochimaru shook his head with a soft smile. "Now hold on Mitsuki."
The boy blinked up at him. "Yes?"
"I must warn you, the outside world isn't as good as you seem to think it will be. Do you remember what I told you?" Mitsuki gulped. "Yes."
"Good. Don't forget it." Orochimaru left, leaving the boy to his thoughts. Dimly, Mitsuki wondered if it was such a good idea to leave the compound. Shaking the thoughts out of his head, the boy focused on picking a nice outfit to wear. After all, he was finally going outside!
"Woah." Ten minutes later, MIstuki stepped outside for the first time in fifteen years. "It's..." Orochimaru smiled. "Gorgeous?"
Mitsuki replied breathlessly, "Yea."
There was green everywhere. Mitsuki could feel the long grass tickling the side of his leg, could smell the scent of the flowers. Everywhere he looked all he could see was green, green, green, and hint of pink and purple, and it was all so colorful-
The boy sighed in contentment. "It's perfect." Orochimaru nodded. "Indeed it is. Which is why we need to protect it forever."
Mitsuki nodded, remembering the words whispered in his ear throughout every bedtime story every night. "Yes. We must protect it."
Orochimaru smiled softly at his son. "You can come up here whenever you want." The boy's eyes lit up. "Really?"
The long haired man nodded. "I believe you're old enough to take after yourself. Just don't go so far that I can't sense your chakra."
Mitsuki nodded enthusiastically, knowing that meant he could go a good few kilometers before having to stop. He looked up at his parent for permission, and with a nod, it was granted.
The boy laughed out loud, running through the woods, jumping on the trees, and it was so much better than those silly simulations were. It was calm, it was clean, it was free. Mitsuki had never been so happy in his life.
He took a deep breath, reveling in the misty air. The boy felt a burst of energy as he shot forward, jumping from tree to tree to tree and- oomph!
Mitsuki groaned, looking down to find he had landed on someone's body. He frowned, jumping onto his feet quickly.
"Ah, I'm sorry." The boy turned towards the ground to find the bluest eyes he had ever seen. WIth a jolt, Mitsuki recognized him to be the raven who had caught him sneaking upstairs that one time.
A shiver ran down his back. Does he recognize me? He looked down, shying away uncomfortably from the look he was giving him.
This boy looked at him with utmost awe, as if he was a star descending from the sky. The boy opened his mouth to say something, but before he could, he disappeared in a puff of smoke.
Mitsuki reeled back. "A shadow clone?"

Boruto froze as his clone's memories tumbled into his head. Sarada looked at him, concerned. "Boruto what's wrong? You haven't finished your panca- ey where are you going?!"
Boruto nearly tripped over his own feet trying to get to the door. "No time to explain, gotta go, dad's probably expecting us- come on Sarada!" The girl grit her teeth, shoveling a spoonful of pancakes into her mouth before following her brother.
"Thansh foh he panshash, Chouchi-shan!" Her voice came out muffled with the food in her mouth. The man chuckled. "No problem, come by anytime."
The two rushed out the door, Sarada scowling as she tried to keep up with Boruto. "Jesus, it's eight am, why are we rushing this bad?"
Boruto shook his head, focusing his energy on going even faster. Sarada groaned, speeding up.
Within a matter of seconds the twins burst into the Uchiha-Uzumaki house. "TOU-SAN!" Boruto yelled into the hall. Sasuke scowled, emerging from the hall with his hands over his ears. "What the hell?"
Boruto gasped, catching his breath. "I found him. Please, please- I have to see him."
Sasuke closed his eyes, sighing. He contemplated for a moment, clenching his fists in exasperation. The man took a deep breath. "NARUTO GET YOUR ASS DRESSED!"
:o. Oh my, looks like Boruto finally found him! Sure hope nothing like an angry Orochimaru gets in their way of meeting~
