Today was a happy day for me for two reasons, first I was celebrating Kaede's first birthday with Zoey at her house. The very same house that she was planning to place on the market in a few weeks. I wanted to have it at our house, but Zoey didn't want anyone to know where she lived until after we got married. She explained that she didn't want Zack showing up at our house making things hard between the two of us. I wasn't worried about that happening, but I was willing to do anything to make her happy.
The other reason I was on cloud nine today is because Zoey told me this morning that she was finally ready to sever all ties with her crazy ex-husband.
Hearing Zoey expressing her thoughts of wanting to open up her own photography business after leaving the company that she'd worked so hard to make a success with, Zack made me work even harder at closing the deal with Mr. Myers. I wanted all the proper paperwork to be signed before Zoey and my wedding day. I was hoping to present the getaway house and her very own modeling agency as a wedding gift to her.
"Alesana, are you almost done in there?" I hear her ask on the other side of the bathroom door.
"Yeah, babe, I'm done," I replied, swinging the door open. "Thank you." I then add before placing my lips on hers.
"For what!" She managed to get out before I slipped my tongue into her mouth.
"For just being you. For being the woman who stole my heart. I thank you for not letting my cold and egotistical ways not scare you off. Most of all, I thank you for showing me that the most important things in life don't always come packaged in a tidy bow." I replied after we shared a sweet and passionate kiss.
"Mama, Dada," Kaede called out as he crawled his way over to us.

Baby Kaede up above...
"Are you ready for your big day, buddy?" I blurt out after picking Kaede up. "I'm a lucky man to be blessed with a beautiful son and wife all at once," I confessed to Zoey before placing one last kiss on her lip and walking out of the room with Kaede.
The downstairs living room was filled with dozens of yellow and blue balloons and a big yellow banner with Happy Birthday Kaede written in blue hanging over the fireplace.
"Come to grandma," Grams says to Kaede as she approaches us at the bottom of the stairs.
"How are you doing, Grams?" I asked while pecking her on the right cheek.
"Junebug this old lady is over the moon and couldn't be more proud of the fine young man that you and Zander have turned out to be. My only wish is that you two would one day follow your dreams and not try to live up to your father's expectations. Your dad has lived his life. Now it's time for you guys to live yours and find your own path in this world with the woman you love." Grams replied.
