~Zoey~
I was sitting behind my desk finishing up my last report when my office door flew open. My evil ex-mother-in-law barged in blazing mad with her eyes red as a piece of hot coal.
“Zoey why in the hell are you doing all of these evil and uncalled-for things to my son?” She roared.
“Well hello to you too,” I say to her with my hands clasped together on top of my desk and my head leaning back up against my seat.
“I won't just sit around and let you destroy my son's life. You will not continue to run around town flaunting this sickening relationship with this ugly ass man for the whole damn world to see and ruin my son's reputation in the process.” She continued.
I wasn't the least bit surprised that Zack had gone running to his bat-crazed mom about his problem. Hell, I'm more shocked that he hadn't done it when Alesana beat his ass into a pulp a few months ago. Since my love blinders have been taken off I was finally able to see that this is the kind of man he has always been. He would always go to his parents when things in his life didn't go the way that he wanted.
“You ugly ass black bitch I've always known that you were a lying, cheating tramp that didn't deserve to be in the same room as my son.” She rants on then slams her purse down onto my desk. I cringe with disgust boiling inside me when I felt a few drops of spit that she was spewing all over the place drop onto my hand.
“Zoey get your shit and leave my son company right now!” She yelled at me.
“Hi I'm Mrs. Zoey Larson and I need the police to come to 1612 Brookhaven Street,” I speak into my cell phone while staring at my evil ex-mother-in-law. I wasn't about to sit around here and entertain this crazy-ass woman any longer. “There's about to be a murder committed if someone doesn't get to my office and soon,” I tell the dispatcher when she asked me what the problem was.
Placing my phone on speaker I then laid it down on my desk then pulled open the top drawer of my desk where my pistol was stashed. I looked at Mrs. Calloway with a smirk on my face and a daring challenge in my eyes.
“You calling the police on me hasn't scared me one bit.” I hear this lunatic woman tell me as her eyes shined with something sinister in them. She began to sling my things off my desk. “Going to fucking jail after I wrap my hands round your neck and snuffing the lights of those iced cold blue eyes of yours would be well worth it.” She slings at me.
The barrel of my pistol was pointed at the center of her forehead as soon as she lunged at me. “You can choose to leave my office on your own or be wheeled out in a body bag.” I sneered with my finger on the trigger.
The look of shock at my actions showed clearly on her face. “You and your son will pay dearly for what you've done to me and my family.” She spat while backing away from me.
“Mrs. Larson the police are here.” Callie buzzed into the room. I placed the gun back into my drawer just before my office door swung open. A tall, slightly muscular Latino officer with a clean-shaven face and warm chestnut eyes entered through the door first. An equally tall and very fit Asian female officer who sported a short pixie cut with blond highlights came in right behind the first officer.
“I hope that your parents have your burial insurance all paid up.” Zack's mom yelled at me in the presence of the officers.
“Ma'am you can't be making those kinds of threats.” The male officer says to her as he stands in between the two of us.
“I can say whatever the hell I want.” She snaps at the officer while trying to peer over his tall frame at me.
“Not without being held accountable for your words or actions.” The female officer replies. She grabbed my ex-mother in law arms and forced them behind her back then slapped a pair of handcuffs around her wrist.
“Bitch get your filthy hands off me.” She shouts while she struggles to free herself from the restraint.
“Officer Montego please take her outside to the cruiser.” The female officer instructs her partner. “Ms. I think that you should press charges on this woman and possibly file a restraining order too.” She says to me as soon as she turns to face me.
“Trust me I will be doing both,” I respond.
“That's good to hear.” She says with a sigh. “By the way, my name is Officer Anna Lee and I will be willing to be a witness to the threat that she has voiced in my presence against your life.” She adds before walking out of my office.
Once I was all alone and after cleaning up the mess my ex-mother-in-law had created I sat behind my desk deep in thought on what had just transpired. I was questioning myself on whether or not I should tell Alesana what happened today. I knew for a fact that if I did tell him he would try to convince me to work from home for a little while. If I didn't tell him, and he found out on his own I was afraid that it would damage our already shaky relationship even more.
“Fuck.” I mumbled into the silent room as I stood to my feet. I didn't want to work from home and I sure as hell didn't want to cause a rift in our relationship. “Callie, I need you to reschedule my appointment today and I will be heading home early today,” I told my secretary as I stood by her desk.
“Okay, Mrs. Larson.” She simply replies. I then walked out of the building still pondering on those two thoughts.
