Before walking back into the hall, Y/n guided the left knee pad back onto her knee, covering the bandages around it, as Kuroo observed her actions.

„Don't tell me you're planning on lying that everything is okay and keep on enduring the pain just to play until the end of the match?”

Y/n then looked up to his hazel eyes, with determined look in hers.

„Exactly! I guess this explains why we make a good example of best friends.”

He was somewhat hurt by her words, since she only kept rejecting him in a romantic way, trying to get him far from even thinking about the possibility of them ending up in an actual relationship.

„Hehe, yeah...”

He murmured, placing his left hand on the nape of his neck again, like he usually does.

„So, I need you to go down here to see my coach with me first.”

„I'm assuming you need me to confirm your crazy lies.”

„Don't say it like that, you make me sound like a bad guy.”

She said as she folded her arms against her breasts, placing her lower lip forward like a toddler.

„Let's go, dwarf.”

She frowned at the nickname again, poking his ribs strongly.

„Awh, that hurt Y/n-chan!”

„Shut up and follow me.”

He smirked at the way she said those words, instinctively going after her arm in order to place it around his waist, since he knew damn well how painful walking must've felt for her at the moment.

He abruptly stopped in his tracks, remembering that she was supposed to pretend like everything is fine and appear as if she's walking without any pain in her leg.

As soon as she stepped forward with her left leg, she felt abnormal amount of pain, feeling her knee trembling like crazy, but she took a deep breath in with her eyes closed in an attempt to bring her composure back.

„Are you okay, Y/n-chan?”

„Yeah.”

She uttered, biting her lower lip instantly afterward, trying to distract herself from the overflowing pain in her left knee.

After she somehow managed to make a few steps forward, using both legs, it didn't take long for her and dark haired boy to reach her coach and a few teammates who were now resting from the exhausting matches.

Seeing that the third set was still ongoing, she breathed loudly in relief, before forcing her lips to twist into a wide grin.

„Y/n, how is your leg?”

Coach queried, curiously glimpsing at her left leg, trying to discern if there was anything wrong with it.

„It's all good now! The nurse washed the blood trails away and put some ice on it to cool it down for a bit. But now it's all good!”

The woman switched the direction of her gaze, now pointing it at the boy who stood behind the grinning girl, giving him a questioning look. He simply nodded at her, confirming Y/n's words.

„Can I go back to the court now?”

„I don't know. Can you?”

She gave Y/n a stern look, trying to make her admit if there was anything she's hiding.
