Placing the sleeping girl onto the mattress of her bed, the man left a short kiss on her forehead, removing a (h/c) strand from her visage, positioning it behind her right ear.
„You won't have any reason to be scared soon, sweetheart. Your dad will take care of everything.”
Muttering those words, his lips formed a bland smile, as the man left his daughter's bedroom, allowing her to get some rest after many nights of battling with insomnia.
Walking through the street showered in darkness, turning around panicked, a young girl spotted a dark silhouette approaching her with abnormal velocity.
Instantly turning back into her primary direction, the girl commenced running as fast as she possibly could, repeatedly taking deep breaths in and out, her heart and lungs aching under the pressure of cold air filling her lungs.
Turning her head slightly to take a peek at the approaching silhouette, realizing that the tall figure was now much closer than just a moment ago, she panicked even more, running faster and faster with each second.
Her body couldn't bear it anymore, but she kept running, hoping that she'll escape from the haunting monster.
Goosebumps flowed through her body, adrenaline rose in her abdomen, as her breathing slowly became even more unstable.
Suddenly sensating a strong grip around her abdomen, she screamed loudly, her eyes instantly opening, as she rose up into a sitting position on her bed.
Sweat fell down her face, as she kept breathing unsteadily, her gaze instinctively going downwards onto her abdomen as she touched it with her hands rapidly, still panicking.
The light in her room suddenly turned on, as the realisation of sleeping in the dark room hit her. Still looking at her abdomen in horror, her breathing louder than ever before, she felt dizziness, noticing that her body wasn't getting enough oxygen.
She kept hyperventilating, and once she had felt someone's touch on her left hand, she pushed the other person's hand away reflexively.
„No! D-don't t-touch me!”
„Sweetheart it's alright, it's me, your dad. It's okay now, you're not alone. I am here with you.”
Kenma and Kuroo stood by the door, observing the panicked girl, contemplating comforting her, but both boys refused to interfere with her father's attempt to calm the girl down.
Kenma's fists clenched subconsciously, as he thought about the story Y/n had told him. Kuroo stood there, glued in one place, unaware of the truth behind his best friend's behalf.
„Do you need water sweetheart? Try to calm your breathing down first.”
Her entire body was trembling yet again, she felt cold, too cold. It was as if someone had locked her into a freezer for an hour.
„N-no.”
No matter how much he had wanted to stay by side, observing the ongoing situation, he couldn't bear to see her like this, panicked and vulnerable.
„Sir, could you leave me alone with your daughter for a moment? I promise she'll feel better when you come back into the room.”
Both Kuroo and the man glanced at the blonde boy bewildered by his question, as the man glanced back at his daughter for a moment before answering to Kenma's question.
„Are you sure you can calm her down? Panic attacks don't often happen to her, but once they do, it's difficult to calm her down.”
The man then glanced at the boy standing behind him again, as Kuroo merely observed him in silence.
