Young girl gradually moved her mother's right leg, stretching it a few times, before placing it back onto the bed.
It has already been half an hour since she arrived to the nursing home and started stretching her mother's muscles.
Now, the stretching part of her visit was over and she finally placed herself onto the chair next to her mother's bed, as her back was now facing the window.
„Hey, mom. I just realized I didn't even properly say hi since I arrived. I literally just walked in and started stretching your muscles, I bet you thought some random stranger just walked in your room."
Y/n slightly giggled during her last sentence, even though the pain in her throat was still present. It still felt as if her throat was ripping from the inside and she was holding her tears back as much as she could, somehow managing to keep that usual fake smile plastered on her face.
„Oh, you know what happened a few days ago mom? My team and I passed the qualifiers to the nationals! Can you believe it? I'm going to the nationals! Saiko is coming with me, you know, your coworkers daughter!"
She bit her lip slightly, as she quickly turned around to face the window instead of her sleeping mother. Being aware of the fact that looking at the laying woman even for a few seconds longer would've caused her to cry, she decided to face the opposite way instead.
I can't let myself cry here, in front of you. I know that the possibility of you actually being able to hear me is very low, but I still can't let that happen.
„I'm so happy, you know mom."
She spoke with a huge grin painted on her visage, as her eyes were traveling all over the backyard of the nursing home.
„I think I've never felt so happy before."
It hurts.
„When you wake up, I'll say it to your face, I'll say 'I told you so' proudly and you will admit your defeat. Right, mom?"
I wish you could see me play.
„You will say that you're actually proud of me for playing volleyball."
Wake up.
Squeezing the backrest firmly with both hands, as her front was leaning against it, she lifted her head up, imagining her usual assertive self.
Wake the fuck up mom!
Lifting her head even more, she waited silently for any possible sound that could come from her mother at moment. Her voice, murmuring, whispering, louder breathing, any sort of movement on the bed. Nothing ever came. No sound ever happened.
She waited for at least five minutes, and after her neck started hurting, she finally let her head down, until it was lowered to the level of facing the floor.
I have to wait longer, huh? Alright then, I guess I'll just wait a bit more. A few more weeks most.
After almost a minute of staring at the floor noiselessly, she turned around once again so that she could face her mother. She grabbed the bag of chips and the pack of chocolate milk, waving with it to the sleeping woman.
„Look, I bought your favourite again. Chilli flavoured chips, that's your favourite, right? And chocolate milk, you prefer it over basic milk, right?"
She opened the bag of chips and placed the straw into the pack of chocolate milk, taking a sip.
„Oh, I just remembered, I have a story for you. I mean, it would probably sound more like complaining, but I'm still going to tell you this one."
