authors note: happy new year!! here's another chapter because why not?

Going to an amusement park with Dabi was crazy, to say the least.

The park was actually only open for villains and was in a remote spot. It was a shirt drive away from Kami's head quarters. Being so close to large roller coasters and carnival booths made your eyes glisten as you looked around eagerly at all of the things you could do. Dabi noticed that, and he grinned down at you before gaining a poker face when you turned to look at him.

He refused to go on any rollercoasters with you but Toga, Twice, and Kenji happily did. The large group that had all travelled to the amusement park together was split in two. You, Dabi, Toga, Twice, and Kenji were in one group while Rin, Ryu, Alannah, Annie, and Spinner went their own way as another group. Dabi mostly stayed in the background, watching you and the others as you all talked and laughed, going on rollercoaster after rollercoaster and eating fatty foods without a care in the world.

Seeing you like this actually made him kinda happy. He often caught himself randomly smiling while looking at you, which only pissed him off because of how soft he was becoming.

Now, you and Dabi are walking through the small park together, side-by-side as everyone else in your group disperses to do their own activities. Neither of you are speaking but the silence is rather comforting. You're still buzzing cheerfully after going on so many rides, and Dabi enjoys feeling such a happy vibe radiating from you.

"I had a lot of fun today. Oh my God the rides were so fun! I've never experienced such a rush. The food was great and it seems like even you enjoyed it too. I nearly threw up because of eating funnel cake right before going on a rollercoaster, but that just added to the fun more. The fact that Kenji was with me on every ride was super cool too. He screamed louder than me it was so hilarious." Your words break the silence as you laugh and grip his arm with one hand, eyes looking at him and filled with nothing other than delight. "But I wish you would have went on some roller coasters with the rest of us."

He chuckles. "I didn't want to risk going on a rollercoaster and my staples unloose causing my body parts to fly away just because the ride hit a sharp turn."

You laugh with him, "Imagine a random stranger was walking through the amusement park and suddenly your burnt jaw just lands on their head."

"Ah ha ha." Dabi laughs dryly. "You can be really mean at times you know?"

You don't stop laughing while gasping out, "I'm so sorry, my little defective flame-thrower."

Your insults surprisingly don't affect him much. However, he does pretend to be annoyed, standing in front of you then grabbing your neck tight in his grip, not cutting of airflow but successfully making you look more subdued as you stare up at him curiously. Dabi smiles maliciously at you then bites his bottom lip.

"Say that again. I dare you."

"Alright, alright, sorry." You mumble, and he lets go of your neck.

"Good." He tauntingly pets the top of your head with a bittersweet smile on his face. "I like when you're obedient."

"I would love to see you be obedient someday." You say with a smirk.
