PLEASE LET ME GO — royal & fantasy au, female reader

"Shimizu-san," She loves you and so do you, anyone can tell just by the way she looks at you.

Shimizu used to love someone else back then and from what you heard about him, he was cool, or at least he sounded cool. But he passed due to an unknown and incurable disease, some say it was from a curse, but nobody really knew.

And it broke her, she began to build walls around her heart, forbidding to let anyone inside, afraid that they may share the same fate as her past lover if they become close to her.

But you came and while it took years for her barriers to completely disintegrate and let you inside her heart, all was worth it when your feelings reached her and she had reciprocated them.

"I love you."

"I've been waiting forever, Y/n-san,"

"I love you too."

It was just a theory she made since her family is tied to this curse they were bestowed upon centuries ago. It all started when a man from the Shimizu family had done sinful actions, and the woman he was in an affair with practiced witchcraft, much to his dismay.

She put a curse on him and everyone related to the family that whoever may develop romantic and genuine feelings for anyone in the family, they may suffer the fate that woman had been through and die a similar way as she did – through any incurable disease. But it doesn't end there, there was another curse too, where the other person feels nothing but a heavy heart from that death.

Even if the other didn't love the person they were in an affair with, they will still feel the burden and pain as though they were the ones suffering from the incurable disease.

Shimizu knew.

She knew that curse was starting to break free again despite having a mage seal and banish that wicked curse bestowed upon the Shimizu family. It broke her the night she found out, and there's one more, you were also cursed by something else other than the one from her family.

Nobody knew how it came to be and who put the curse on you, but magically and naturally poisonous vines grew inside your room that soon grew longer and longer as each day passes but nobody dared to cut it up, more so touch them.

The last time somebody made a mistake, they were running and tripped on an object on the floor before colliding with the vines. They soon died after its vines and leaves engulfed them as if they were alive and melted their body, soon their organs and everything else until nothing was left.

However, there is a cure to this curse. You don't know how they correlate with each other but all that you know is that, you needed to wholeheartedly love a man. It pained you because... you don't feel attraction towards men.

"Why?"

"Shimizu-san?"

"Why didn't you tell me?"

You were genuinely confused, your head turned to her with your head tilted and eyebrows furrowed, "Tell you about what?"

"That you-"

"Ah! That I actually love you more than anyone in my life and that I need you more than the air I breathe?" You exclaimed, it was said in a teasing manner but it was true anyway. But this time, Kiyoko wasn't smiling. It made her heart drop.

The moment she looked at you, she thought of you differently. She could no longer feel her heart beat fast.

That's weird.

"Kiyoko? Are you okay? You seem a little... different."

"Why didn't you tell me about the curse? Two, actually. That you have two curses on you?" She asked in such a calm manner which was opposite to how you thought she'd react. It surprised you, yeah.

But you turned to look at the ground, deciding not to speak for a while, trying to look for words that may seem right or at least, sound right and understandable. Even if that's Kiyoko, there are some instances where she may not even want to listen to any explanation.

"I didn't... want to worry you because you are so busy everyday and I thought that bringing it up would cause you even more stress and worry."

Kiyoko felt as though her heart was about to break. Did you think she doesn't have time for you? And of course she'd worry about your well-being, hell, she'd even give everything up just to fix whatever the hell is happening to you.

"Y/n-san, I care about you more than anything. I would give up everything, even my crown, if that meant I could live together with you without anyone thinking they have a say about us and if that meant it would lift the curse."

"For the sake..."

"Hm?"

"For the sake of the two of us, I lied to my parents... I'm sorry, my love, but I am willing to die than love someone else other than you, especially a man. I will never love a man just to lift this curse."

What a lie.
