CHAPTER 37

ADI's POV

"Do I look okay?" I ask Ace while I was staring at myself in front of the mirror.

I'm wearing a simple sky blue dress. Ace's parents invited us to come over for lunch... my parents will also be there.

Like Ace's said, I want to give them a chance again, I want them to let me into my life.

"Yes baby, you look beautiful," he said looking at me full of admiration.

I went inside our closet again to grab a pair of white flat sandals.

"Ready to go baby?" tanong niya sa akin at tumango naman ako bago ko kinuha ang bag ko.

"We have a checkup next week for our baby's gender," I told him, I just got a call from my ob-gyn yesterday afternoon and I forgot to tell him because we ended up making love.

I was on the mood yesterday kaya naman hindi talaga pinalagpas ni Ace.

"What day?"

"Friday"

"I'll clear up my schedule," he said. He never misses my checkups. He's always there, he always makes time for me and for our child.

Nang makarating kami sa mansion ay nagluluto pa lang sila, masyado kaming maaga. Bumeso ako sa Mommy ni Ace ng lumabas siya galing sa kusina, she also greeted my baby by caressing my tummy.

"How's pregnancy going anak?" tanong niya sa akin habang nandito kami sa kusina, I volunteered to help her cook, buti na lang at pinayagan niya ako.

"Okay naman po Mom, noong nakaraang araw sumipa siya habang kinakausap siya ni Ace," pagkukwento ko.

It was the first time our baby kicked, it felt weird but I was happy and Ace's was also happy.

"Oh my! I want to feel it too," she said and she even pouted.

I cooked two dishes while Mom cooked the rest so I won't get tired.

"Anong oras po sila dadating?" tanong ko sa kaniya habang pinapanood ko siya na magluto.

"I told them to come here at twelve, papunta na siguro sila," sagot niya sa akin.

Tinignan ko ang relo ko, it's already 11:54.

Hindi ko alam kung paano ako aakto sa harap nila pag dumating sila. Our last talk didn't end up well now I don't know how to act in front of them.

"I'll just go to Ace lang po," paalam ko sa kaniya at tumango lang naman siya sa akin bilang sagot.

Nag-tungo na ako papunta sa living room para puntahan si Ace.

"You're done cooking with Mom?" tanong niya sa akin ng makalapit ako sa kaniya.

"Yeah, daawalang dish lang naman yung ipinaluto niya sa akin tapos pinag-pahinga niya na ako pagkatapos," sabi ko sa kaniya.

His parents are just as protective as him.

One of their maids went to the door and opened it and they entered.

Bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko nang makita ko sila, I'm nervous!

Lumapit ang Daddy ni Ace sa kanila at binati sila, Ace wrapped his arm around my waist and he gently pulled me towards them.

"Hello po Ma, Pa," he greeted my parents, he sound so casual as well.

They smiled at Ace and greeted him back.
