"Hey, you."
Jade nodded at the brunette with a slight smile and started driving. In all honesty, Jade was a little nervous about the place she had planned to take Tori. She felt it was such a personal part of her. The feeling scared her but she decided to push away all the fear for tonight. No, she wouldn't let it control her.
The radio was playing softly in the car, filling up the silence between them, when Tori pulled the aux cord out of the glove box and plugged it into her phone. Jade glanced at her.
"What are you doing?"
"We're listening to Taylor Swift."
"What- no-"
"You said you would."
Jade groaned and Tori smiled as she started playing the first song. She started off with something regular to ease Jade into it and played Style. Tori was bopping her head along with the beat. She saw Jade trying her hardest not to give in and look like she was enjoying it when Tori nudged her in the shoulder.
"I know you like it. Just give in."
Jade rolled her eyes, a grin forming on her face. She glanced at Tori mouthing the words dramatically, using her phone as a mic, and put the song louder.
"So, where are we going?"
Jade simply kept quiet, ignoring Tori's questions. She drove while Tori was playing her different Taylor Swift songs and squealing really hard whenever her favourite song came on (which was almost every song that played.)
She couldn't deny it, Taylor Swift was really great. She wasn't going to admit that to Tori, though. There was just one song that caught her attention and she asked Tori what it was called after it ended.
"I told you what it was called before it started," the brunette said with a pout on her lips.
"I know, I didn't hear you."
"Yeah, you should have-"
"Can you just tell me what it is? Jesus."
Tori rolled her eyes. "The way I loved you."
Jade nodded, making a mental note to add it to her playlist later. She drove and drove until She and Tori were at the edge of a forest. It was nearly 8pm and Tori was confused as to where they were. Jade pulled over and parked. Tori glanced at her.
"What are we doing here?"
Jade smirked. "You'll see."
She got out of the car and gestured for Tori to follow her. They started walking into the forest. The trees weren't all that dense so there was a significant amount of moonlight above them. They were walking on in silence when Tori accidentally stepped on a branch and screamed at the crunching noise.
Her first instinct was to jump into Jade who caught her round the shoulders, laughing to herself.
"The poor stick isn't going to hurt you, Vega."
Tori rolled her eyes and pulled away from Jade, hugging herself and looking out for where she was stepping. Jade glanced at her every so often to see how she was doing. They had walked for ten minutes, Tori's questions getting unbearable for Jade, when they saw light up ahead and Jade's smile broadened.
She grabbed Tori's wrist and started dragging the brunette towards the shop til they were at the entrance.
"Can you please tell me where we-"
But Tori fell silent once Jade pushed her in. The place was partitioned into two areas; one was a little cafe with three or four sets of tables and chairs in front of a counter big enough for three people to fit behind. The other side was a vast sitting area with floor to ceiling shelves stacked with books of every size, shape and colour.
