Tori and Jade had last ran their lines alone together a week before and it was already the next rehearsal. The last five times the pair practised together was with everyone else in the theater and after each session they could hear Sikowitz telling them to make their marriage seem more believable.

To be honest, Jade wasn't all too keen on going to Tori's house and being alone with her. Neither was she all too ecstatic about looking into her stupid chocolate brown eyes and reading lines with her. The very idea of being alone with Tori right then made her tummy still toss and turn.

She was adamant on keeping away from Tori as much as possible but as they were acting together, it was really hard to not look into Tori's eyes. Those darn chocolate brown eyes. Each time they had to make eye contact, Jade just kept her eyes trained on the spot right below Tori's eyes and made do with it.

So on the day of the full rehearsal, Jade was freaking out a little because she was worried she wouldn't be able to look Tori in the eye properly to make it seem like they were married and Sikowitz would make them run their lines alone together and God knows what would happen if they ran their lines alone together this time around.

She walked to the Black Box and headed backstage to get changed into her Nancy outfit when she spotted Tori and felt her jaw clench. The brunette was headed right towards her and she had no intention of talking unless it was on the stage.

"Back off, Vega," Jade managed to say when Tori stopped to talk to her.

Having brushed her off, Jade escaped behind the rack of clothes and started looking for her outfit. Tori didn't pursue her once more and she was grateful. She got dressed in a little closed off section of the theater meant for actors and actresses to get changed in a hurry and went off to makeup.

Tori, on the other hand, was feeling rather disappointed. She tried to pull it together to talk to Jade so they could run their lines together but Jade kept leaving her on read or plainly not responding to her calls during the week.

And Tori wasn't an idiot. She knew exactly why Jade was avoiding her as much as possible. She couldn't forget that day either. A few moments before the pizza guy came when their lips were inches away from each other, heartbeats matching each other's in the quiet of the room.

Tori was still extremely determined to talk to the raven-haired girl so when she spotted her rushing off to get changed, she tried to stop her only to get brushed off. And Tori was at her breaking point.

She was the one trying hard not to fail and be a good sport but if Jade wanted to be all immature and not respond or talk to her then so be it. Tori grabbed her Walter Swain outfit from the rack and walked into the changing room on the other side of the Black Box.

Frustrated and a little close to tears, Tori threw her clothes on and took a deep breath before she walked into the little area set up for hair and make-up. She was about to take a seat when she saw Jade on the chair beside the one she was just about to get in.

She couldn't face Jade right now. She needed to compose herself first so she called out to Cat on the other side of the little hair and make-up area who was rifling through the brushes and whatnot.

"Hey Cat?"

Upon hearing her voice, Jade turned around, half her face made up and the other half still plain. Tori knew Jade was watching her but made as if she didn't notice. Cat heard Tori and walked over.

"Yeah?"

"Can you come do my hair and make-up over here?"

"But-"

"Please."

Cat sighed and glanced at Jade before leaving her in the care of another make-up artist and bringing some make-up stuff over to Tori's corner. She pulled apart the curtains of the dressing area and saw the brunette seated on the chair, wiping her tears as fast as they fell.
