"How about a game of truth or dare?"
"We aren't in middle school, Robbie."
"It was just a suggestion," said Robbie dejectedly as Tori ruffled his hair up.
"It's not a bad idea, actually," Beck continued, looking around at the others for approval.
Slowly, everyone nodded and they began to play.
"Cat, truth or dare?," Andre started.
The redhead picked truth and Andre was thinking for a few seconds.
"What's the weirdest thing that's ever happened to you?"
"Well, my brother locked me in a cage one time because he wanted a dog but he didn't know how to take care of it so he made me the dog before he got one."
The whole room fell silent as Cat giggled in that signature, high-pitched tone she had. The others shared looks of horror before brushing it off and continuing the game. They were going around in a circle when it finally got to Tori.
"Tori, truth or dare?," Robbie asked.
"Um, truth?"
Robbie grinned and was about to ask a question when Rex cut him off.
"Who're you crushing on?"
"I was gonna ask her something!"
"Not my fault you took too long."
"Aw chiz!"
Tori smiled, letting her eyes travel up to the ceiling as she thought. There was only one person that came to mind but she couldn't say it aloud. She could feel Jade's eyes on her as she tried to think.
"I don't think I'm crushing on anyone right now."
"Don't think ?"
Tori's jaw clenched. She really wasn't in the mood to be pestered by her friends to talk about who might or might not be her crush. She already wasn't a very good liar, she didn't want to accidentally drop unwanted hints.
"Come on, Vega. Tell us," Jade purred right next to her ear and Tori narrowed her eyes at the dark-haired girl.
"I don't have any crushes. Really."
"Maybe you're just not telling us who it is," Jade said, an eyebrow raised.
"Yeah, it's not like you guys would have anything to do about it."
"What is that supposed to mean? You expect us to get the guy for you or something?"
"No, I don't-"
"Then why are you talking like-"
"No listen-"
And they went on like that for a while, the others watching them with fond smiles. Beck didn't actually watch the scene for too long, tearing his eyes away to scroll aimlessly through his pear phone.
"They even fight like a couple, don't they?," Cat whispered to Andre.
The others were whispering and agreeing while Beck stayed silent, thinking.

"Good morning, class," came Sikowitz's voice as he entered the classroom.
There were murmurs all across the room as he placed his bag down and looked at all of them, his gaze pausing briefly on the most unexpected couple in the room which were Jade and Tori sitting together and laughing softly to each other. He smiled.
