Jade looked around and saw cars lined as far as the eye could see. Most of them were trucks parked backwards. She was confused for a second and turned to ask Tori when the windshield lit up and she shielded her face, looking for the source of bright light.

There was a big screen elevating slowly so that cars parked further back would be able to see. They were at a drive-in movie theater. Jade couldn't help her reaction as her eyes lit up like a child's.

"I've always wanted to go to one of these!"

Tori smiled. "You're welcome."

They weren't too close to the screen nor too behind, just in the perfect spot. Tori turned the air-conditioner up a little and pulled her purse out.

"I'm getting something from the snack bar, what do you want?"

Jade thought for a second then said, "Surprise me."

Tori nodded and left the car. Jade got out to see what movie they were going to play. She checked the schedule and the time and saw that they were about to play this movie from 2016 called 'The Boy.' Jade shrugged and returned to the car.

She waited in the air-conditioning for a while, looking through her phone when the car door opened and Tori entered with sustenance. She handed Jade a bag of chips and a soda and they popped the cup holders to hold their drinks.

They ate in silence for a while, waiting for the movie to start and listening to the radio in the meantime.

"So, what do you think was going through Sikowitz's head when he wrote the play?," Tori asked out of the blue.

"Maybe it's the coconut milk. It gives him visions."

Tori nodded and the car was filled with silence once more.

"Hey, do you think there's any proper way to act married?"

"Well, we have to act like we love each other," Tori replied, an eyebrow raised.

"My parents don't love each other and they're married."

Tori grinned.

"Touche. But Walter and Nancy love each other. A lot."

Jade nodded.

"Walter is all sorts of messed up but Nancy still loves him. It's a beautiful story."

Tori smiled. She was about to say something else when the movie started. They rolled down the windows and killed the radio. Jade left the car during an intermission they had every 45 minutes for people to go to the bathroom and get more snacks. When she returned, she saw Tori with her legs folded in the seat, shivering a little

"Hey, d'you want my coat?"

"I have a coat on."

"That's not a warmth coat, it's a fashion coat. Mine actually keeps you warm, here," she said.

Tori glanced at Jade, her teeth chattering the slightest bit.

"Aren't you cold?"

Jade was already taking off her coat.

"I practically live in the cold at home. My mom says the heat is bad for her rash."

She shivered out of disgust for a second and Tori giggled. She held out her coat and Tori leaned over so Jade could drape it around her shoulders. Tori thanked her and pulled it closer around herself, inhaling that tropical, fruity smell that always lingered around Jade.

"You smell delicious," said Tori absentmindedly.

Jade's eyes widened a little."Thanks, I guess."

The movie continued and there was this really intense scene where Tori squeezed Jade's thigh out of impulse. The raven-haired girl wanted to say something then noticed how Tori's eyes were trained on the big screen and smiled at the sight.
