Tori was sitting in the passenger's seat of Beck's car on the way to school. It was their routine now; Beck would pick Tori up and they would take a slow drive to school together even though Beck still felt like it was too short a time.
Now, Tori was a good listener. Not to mention, she gave him good advice. Beck loved their conversations on the way to school in the morning. They really gave him a brand new insight into how sharp and intelligent she really was.
That was one of the things he loved about her. Yeah, loved. And he would remind himself that he did every single day but there was something giving him lockjaw each time he came close to saying it to her. Maybe he wasn't over Jade. Maybe that's why it was so hard to tell her how he really felt.
But he never really minded much about it because he felt like they had all the time in the world. And that's what kept him going. That's what kept him from saying it because there were still so many new things he could love about her and he wanted to wait to hear about all of them.
"Thanks for the ride."
"You're welcome," he smiled, leaning over for a kiss before he went to find a parking spot.
She pecked him for a moment before smiling and walking into the school, her eyes roaming the halls for a certain raven-haired girl. She looked around for a few moments, frowning when she realized Jade was nowhere in sight.
Their movie night over a week ago had done nothing to help with Tori's confused feelings regarding Jade. They had joked about Jade being Tori's type and then the conversation switched to deeper topics, family and things that Tori never knew she would hear Jade admit.
It was certainly a night Tori would never forget.
What worried Tori was that Jade might get all weird and distant after opening up to Tori. But as the girls sat down for breakfast that Saturday morning, it was as if the night before had never taken place. Tori wasn't really sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing.
She was at her locker that Monday morning, trying her hardest to seem as nonchalant as possible while she looked around for Jade. It was about five minutes later when she was considering giving up her search when she heard the familiar stomping noise of Jade's boots coming down the stairs.
Tori looked up at the staircase and smiled as she watched Jade try her best to avoid Cat who seemed to be whining and begging her to go to something. Tori watched the exchange for a few seconds before she realized the pair were on their way over to her locker.
"Tori can you please convince Jade to come to my sleepover birthday party on Friday night?," cat pleaded, pulling on Tori's sleeve.
"Who says I'll go if Vega asks? What am I, a dog?," Jade started defensively.
"Jade, please come to Cat's sleepover birthday party this Friday."
"Sure," said Jade softly, looking down at her shoes.
Tori smiled and turned to Cat. "There. Mark us both down for yes on the guest list."
"Thank you!," the redhead said, jumping up and down and hugging Tori excitedly. Jade rolled her eyes.
"Don't forget to send me the location of your house, Cat."
"Oh, it's not going to be at my house. My mom and dad are letting me use the lake house."
"Holy shit, that's so cool!"
"I know! All of us are going to have so much fun!"
Cat skipped off in the other direction and left Tori and Jade alone. The pair linked arms and walked down to their music class together. Others looked at them in confusion as it was mere months ago that they couldn't stand to be in the same room for longer than five minutes and now they were deliberately linking arms and giggling?
