Bowling with Beck and his little sister the night before was fun, Tori wouldn't deny it. What she would try to deny was the fact that despite how cute the little girl was, there was only one girl Tori couldn't stop thinking of the whole time. One girl she would have dropped everything in that bowling alley for had she called.

But she didn't.

So Tori had to plaster on the best smile she could muster and play with them. She did enjoy herself, what with Beck and all there and Beck's little sister being really sweet. Just like her older brother. And Tori reminded herself that she was dating Beck. Sweet, kind, selfless Beck. What more could a girl want in a man?

The next day at school, Tori couldn't wait for the day to end so that she could end up in the recording room with Jade again. They needed to talk about what song they would be singing and nail the whole performance given that money was involved this time.

So the periods passed by with a blur with Tori barely being able to give all her focus to Beck as they snuck away to make out in the janitor's closet. As much as she tried to think of Beck and the taste of his sweet, sweet lips, all Tori could wonder was how long more it would take school to finish.

I just want to get the performance over with. That's the only reason I'm excited.

And yet, something in the back of her mind that buzzed each time Tori caught Jade smiling told her differently. But again, Tori would just deny, deny, deny. When all her classes were over, Tori waited by her locker, waiting nonchalantly for Jade to show up first. When she spotted the goth rummaging through her locker, Tori fixed her hair and walked over.

"Ready to practise?"

Jade looked at her in confusion for a second before her eyes widened and she slammed her palm against her forehead.

"Fuck. That's right now, isn't it? I completely forgot."

The smile slowly faded from Tori's face.

"Did you make other plans?"

Jade half nodded and made to walk past Tori but the brunette stepped in front of her.

"Tori-"

"What plans do you have?"

Jade groaned in frustration as she looked up into Tori's eyes. She knew she couldn't lie. Not to those brown eyes. Jade looked around the hallway and then back at Tori who had her arms crossed, waiting for an answer. The goth rolled her eyes and reached for Tori's wrist before proceeding to drag her to the janitor's closet.

"What is it?," Tori asked as Jade shut the door behind them.

"I'm picking up a shift for my aunt Molly at her cafe. Her dogs are sick and her co-worker's daughter isn't well again and she needed my help so-"

"Great! We can pick songs at the cafe," Tori said before walking out of the closet.

Jade was stunned as she walked out the door after Tori.

"You don't have to-"

"I know. I want to," the brunette responded with a warm smile as she headed for the parking lot to her car.

Jade walked over to her own car, still surprised, and turned to see Tori waiting to follow suit. Jade took a deep breath and started driving away to the cafe and checked her rearview mirror to see Tori following her. It was such an odd situation which had backfired completely.

Jade didn't have to cover for aunt Molly. She had gotten another co-worker to help out since Samuel's daughter always got sick but she needed an excuse to be away from Tori because she knew that being in that recording room with the brunette wasn't going to be of much help considering the fact that she didn't want to keep thinking of Tori.
