"Lonan.. how is she?" Jay came in my office
"She slept just about"
"What police say?" He sat opersite me
"They took photos and went through the statement again. took some Dna"
"What time did you get home?"
"Easily 2am.. barely slept.. just wide awake"
"Richard?"
"Dunno I told the police I punched him.. but I'm going to see the solicitor soon."
"Why?"
"Getting a court junction. no way is he coming near her" I flicked through some files
"You shouldn't be here. Go home"
"I will be soon.."
"alright well ring yea?
"Yeah will do.... cheers jay"

I sorted a few more things and then left.

"Mr smith... Early lunch?"
"No.. I'm working g from home" I bluntly told her and soon left.

Later on when she had fallen asleep, I snuck out the lounge into the kitchen.

"Mrs cooper?... It's Lonan Smith.. yes Alex's friend..... yeah sorry for calling you but is there any chance yourself and Mr Cooper can come over to mine?... Please it's important... It's Alex ... She's okay she but I would appreciate if you both could come by mine... yes yes it's 22 Brooke street. yes thank you bye"

Making some lunch I sighed and my mum started to ring me

"Hello mum.... mum it's good to hear your voice.. yeah everything's fine.... mum... my friend Alex............. yeah I know... her husband has been hurting her...... was married mum.... no we haven't been having an affair...... no mum he's really hurt her this time and I don't know what to do... mum I punched the husband and I couldn't stop mum... Resting in the marble worktop while the kettle whistled just thinking over the last few hours. my heart feels heavy my shoulders are tight..

" Hey.." her weak voice call
"Hey you should be resting.. thought you were asleep?"
"I was..... you called mum didn't you?"
"I had to... you can't go through this alone"
"I'm not I have you" her voice was weak like she needed me to say it
"Always alex always" I reached out to her and pulled her tight. I kissed top of her head as I her tight tightened.

"Lonan I can't thank you enough"
"No need no need... come on let's go back in lounge"
"No can we go for a walk?"
"A walk now..."
"Now... please" she winced at the pain she had. we walked a little way then came back sat on the bench enjoying the birds and the sun shine. I felt her rest her head on my shoulder and hearts her sigh.

"You rung them didn't you?
"Who?" Knowing full well who she meant.
"My mum and dad"
"They need to know.. Your dad needs to know.... here they are" I heard the tyres on the gravel.. the car pulled up and stopped.

"Stay here" I pulled away and walked over to them

"Mr and Mrs Cooper thank you for coming. I've told alex your coming over thank you for coming.."

"How is she?" Mrs cooper asked with tears in her eyes
"She's okay sore a bit of pain.. few marks... " Mr cooper stood a few steps away from us and his gaze didn't look at me once
"Okay... I can't believe it" Mrs cooper stuttered
"She's okay.. tired but guess that's the pain killers.... mr cooper?." I called by the had already gone over to Alex and sat next to her.

"They need to talk" we stood watching them
"Fancy a Coffee?" I offered
"That would be lovely let's leave them to talk"
