beep beep I heard then saw the Orange lights flash as we rounded the corner to the car park.

"Your kidding me right... this is not your car?" I pointed and trying not to laugh

"What.... course... come on even you must remember how I loved this car as a kid... get in." He grinned from ear to ear.. how on earth has he afforded this car, how can he... I got in and it smelt new, leather felt the finest of the fine, the dash board not a mark and a built in sat nav. The sound of the engine was amazing as it started.

"Cant believe this is yours.?" Running my hands on the leather.

"Like you said earlier I'm doing good, for myself." He said childishly.

"So where we going?"

"Anywhere... somewhere away from here?" He asked me without looking at me. His jaw was chisaled. His hair style looked to the point of not moving and the quiff had not a hair out of place.

"Sounds like a plan." Is all I said, the radio was on low and as I stared out the window his words echoed through me.

"I can help you what ever it is Alex."

How can he help me.. I'm trapped. I'm too scared to look at my phone just in case what I read. I never replied just carried on looking out the window as we flew down the motorway at God knows what speed. My tummy tying itself in knotts and then it started to feel awkward.

We pulled into this country cobbled road to which I wasn't sure if this sports car would be able to handle the roughness yet Lonan didn't batter a eyelid.

"Nearly there...awesome place.." he told me

We pulled around this corner to see a large gravel car park with some very expensive cars parked up, I rolled my eyes just only he would drive to a place like this.. mingle with posh people, yet here I am in jeans and a blouse and leather coat. I looked myself up and down then to the cars parked up, couple range rovers, a jag, a Porsche.. now a Audi R8. Lonan straightened himself out before noticing my expression.

"Stop worrying so much.. it's a really nice place"

"A place I can't afford Lonan... seriously,, plus I'm not dressed right."

"I'm paying... come on.." I walked just behind him in case people started to.stare which I wouldn't blame them.

"Hello sir.. table for two?" A plump lady asked as she stood straight with her hands behind her back at the entrance door.

"Yes.. for two.. can we sit at the front?"

"Of course.. haven't seen yourself in awhile sir" she addressed him as we reached the table that was sat overlooking the pier, the view was breath taking. We sat down and I looked around to see if I was being stared at but no one seemed to care.

"Relax... Stop worrying."

"Sorry"

"Sir drinks?" She appeared again

"Yes could I have a lemon and lime please... Alex"

"Same please."

Staring out at the view was beautiful, a few boats drifting across.

"So.. why are you hiding." I looked straight at him, his eyes piecing straight at me with a genuine caring tone.

"Long story Lonan."

"Right.. well no rush... Thought that why we have come out! where you staying?"

"Umm hotel in town."

"You can stay at mine.. it's,far too big just for me"

"What about your fiancee.."

"Fiancee?? No fiancee.. Long story"

"Well no rush.... That's why we are here isn't it? ......I just can't go back.."

He raised his eyebrow at my sarcastic tone and said
"Go back? Home?"

"Home.. parents.. I just can't go back"

"You don't need too Alex.. you can talk to clare"

"I can I know but it's hard to admit I've lost everything."

"Everything?" He quizzed me

"My job, my home..my life" I rambled on

"Life? No one can take your life Alex.. "

"He has.."

"Who?"

"Can we change the subject.." I forced the tears away and cleared my throat as i tried to contain the shaking of my hands.

We sat eating not speaking a word, the food was beautiful and even though we didn't speak his company was better than being on my own. Soon enjoying a coffee and little chocolate mints placed on a white plate with white and brown sugar cubes.

"You know I thought she was the one.. I thought I would marry her.. we were meant to get married. When I met her i thought my life couldn't get better. Stunning wife to be, big house, nice car, promotion at work... but she's gone, she's left me.. I've given her everything she asked she had.. clearly not enough. I kept my fitness up because she prefered me like this.." Stirring his coffee quickly.

"I only ever remember you being like this, muscly I mean.... even as a kid you were running, sit ups"

"True..."

"When she go?"

"When I got the biggest deal signed to the company... the day you came back."

"Oh so that why you Drowned your sorrows then.. Hence that hangover you had!"

"Couldnt not.. Soon sobbed up. And anyway dunno if I'm relived.. I was spending too much time at work."

"Workaholic"

"I was... I guess, I knew what she was really up too.. while cats away the mice will play as they say."

"Arent you angry?"

"No... takes up too much energy. Look the offer at staying at mine is still open.."

"Thank you... you know my dad still won't talk to me.. I came from there's when I ended up at your work."

"Your dad? Why?"

"Because he blames me for everything about Richard..." I felt tears filled my eyes & my lips were trembling uncontrollably.

"Why though... I don't understand.... don't get upset.."

"I.... he... dad... I let everyone believe that Richard left me the last time coz I cheated.... But I....I..... I didn't cheat"

"Why didn't you say anything stand up say the truth"

"Because easier not too and easier to not tell the truth..." I wiped my eyes as every tear seeped down my cheeks. His eyes were fixed on me.

"Here... don't cry..." he passed me a napkin across the table & replied

"Shall we make a move... you going to stay at mine tonight no arguments... you need a good night's sleep"

The drive home we sat in silence. I haven't felt safe in along time yet right here right now it's the safest place. We pulled up the drive way to come face to face with a big house standing on its own. It looked as lonely as Lonan does.

"See too big for one person.. Come on in"
