chapter 10 Alex

while I spent ages in the gym, my ribs were aching, with the full length mirrors on the walls I could see all the bruises, it's something I hate seeing and these mirrors just enhanced it. Run my fingers over a few before I stopped and went back inside. The soap suds ran down every part of my body and covered the marks, closing eyes hoping the aching of my body would go yet I was hurting with every inch of my bones.

Tears streamed down my cheeks quicker than i could wipe them away, sobbing as I sat in the shower hugging my knees. Unable to move for awhile unsure what I'm doing and why am i here at Lonans of all people I could turn too I chose him.

I heard my phone ringing over and over which I grabbed my towel and ran down stairs. I had couple recent missed calls from Clare. I settled down in the big oversized armchair which faced the garden I rung Clare back first of all.

"Hey... Yeah sorry I was in the shower....Oh I know sorry my phone went dead...... Yeah yeah I'm good........ ummm no no plans today, yeah sure ill meet you in town soon?... couple hours.... Great see you at Jacks.bye bye...love you too." I rung Lonans phone because I had no key to get back in..

It rung for a while...his tone was deep & not awkward what so ever.

"Hey... Yeah fine I'm going to go meet Clare for lunch...... Yeah but I have no key to get back in.... are you sure?.......... well I'm going to tell Clare everything........ in couples hours by time I get to your office... Oh okay no don't worry ill just stay out till your home.... Okay.... Will do bye bye" I ended the call & called mum.

I pressed the buzzer on the wall the same young voice spoke

"Hello Walsh and partners, Emma speaking"

"Hi I'm here to see Lonan Smith."

"Mr Smith?? Come up to the front desk." The door unlocked. I made way up again to her desk. Sat As pretty as a picture, make up again able to peel off, hair stuck in place, massive heels on yet couldn't see them properly as she was sitting. Her expression was grumpy.

"Mr smith is in a meeting can I book you in"

"Lonan knows I'm popping in.. he told me to ask you to call up.."

"Call up?" She sqinted her eyes at me but her forehead didn't move, far too much bottox clearly.

"Yeah I spoke to him earlier."

"Fine" she angrily dialled his number and she swiftly said

"A young lady is here for Mr Smith..... ill ask..... what's your name..." she tutted at me

"Alex Cooper "

"Alex Cooper.... Okay..... take a seat" she hissed at me then took another phone call.

"Alex. Hello again I'm Linda"

"Hiya.." she instantly made me feel welcomed.

"Coming up.. Mr Smith is in a meeting but he will come out to see you."

"I told him I could just collect them"

"Mr Smith would prefer to see you." She smiled sweetly at me. We stood by his office when Linda walked over and knocked the door of the meeting room. Lonan looked straight over, smiled instantly, clearly excused himself out of the meeting and followed Linda.

"Hey" I smiled unable to move like everyone was Looking at me

"Hey... here.." he pulled his,keys out of his very expensive jacket pocket.

"Thanks for this.."

"No worries.. You okay? so going to tell Clare?" He comfortably pushed his hands into his pockets

"Yeah going to try.."

"Good you should.. not everyone is against you"

"Feels it sometimes"

"I'm not am I..." he gave me a weak smirk

"They are waiting for you.." I hinted to the meeting room as they were turning around and looking over

"Its boring in there... ill probably be home late tonight... "

"Okay.. shall I cook dinner or not bother"

"Umm sort yourself out.."

"Okay... thanks" I lifted the keys up.

"No problem.. have fun... see you later.."

"Yeah.. bye" I hurried off gripping his keys tight.

I walked out the entrance door to come face to face with Jay & Clare.. they looked confused and shocked as I did and I knew I had been rumbled. Shoving his keys in my pocket.

"Alex.. what you doing at my office" Jay asked

"Oh umm......" I couldn't think of any excuse but which wasn't believable

"Oh I bumped into someone who works here and they left there wallet, well they dropped it and I was,returning It... "

"Oh.... "

"Yeah amazing office"

"Thanks.. right babe have fun... Alex good to see you" he plunked a kiss on my cheek and went inside. I shifted from foot to foot as Clare stared at me.

"Hungry?" I offered

"Starving" Clare linked arms with me.
