"I need what?" Zoe asked clinging onto Sebastian more than she was before,
"I'm afraid you need surgery, I will go get you a brace and schedule the soonest surgery we can" the doctor said,
"Thank you" Sebastian spoke up,
"I will be back in a minute" both the doctor and the nurse left the room and closed the door. While shaking Zoe turned to Sebastian with tears in her eye,
"Hey, hey, it's going to be okay" Sebastian stroked Zoe's hair in an attempt to calm her down. So far it wasn't working so Sebastian tried calling Robert. When Robert picked up Sebastian immediately started talking, "I know this is sudden but can you talk with Zoe and try to calm her down, the doctor just gave us some news and she's not taking it well"
"Of course, put her on" Robert said, Sebastian put the phone on speaker and then spoke to Zoe,
"Hey Zoe, Robert wants to talk to you, do you want to talk to him?"
"Y-yes" Zoe said,
"Hey Zoe, what did you do with your dad this morning?" Robert asked,
"We laid in bed and did some reading" Zoe said,
"What did your dad read?"
"The queen's gambit"
"And what did you read?"
"Shadow and bone"
"Was it good?"
"Yes"
"Good, do you feel better now?"
"Yes, thank you" as Zoe finished her sentence the doctor walked back into the room,
"Alright Ms. Zoe I have your brace, let's get this on you" The doctor sat on his rolling chair and rolled his was in front of Zoe,
"Daddy, I'm still scared" Zoe whispered,
"Well after this we can go get lunch and stop by set to see everyone, do you want to do that?"
"Yes please"
"Did I hear you're coming to set?" Robert asked in an excited tone, Zoe giggled and looked down at the phone,
"Yes"
"Oh my god when I tell everyone they are going to be so excited" as Zoe was laughing at Robert being silly the doctor put the brace on her foot and backed up,
"Alright Ms. Zoe you are ready to leave" Zoe looked down at her foot and saw the brace and looked back up,
"That was it?" she asked,
"That's it" The doctor repeated with a smile, he then turned to Sebastian, "I will have someone call you to schedule a good day for the appointment and I will send you home with this list of things to follow the night before"
"Thank you"
"My pleasure" Sebastian hung up the phone and carried Zoe out to the car.
