Chapter 42

After a calm afternoon of cuddling and reading it was time for Sebastian and Zoe to go back to the doctors. Sebastian lightly shook and spoke,

"Princess, it's time to go"

"Okay" They quickly got ready and got into Sebastian's car. On the way to the doctors Sebastian got a call from Elizabeth,

"Hello" Sebastian said,

"Hey, how was the appointment?" Elizabeth asked,

"We went, left, and are now going back"

"Why?"

"Zoe's getting her cast taken off, and they are going to do more x-rays"
"I hope it goes well"

"Thanks, I do too," Zoe said. Elizabeth hung up just as Sebastian and Zoe pulled into the doctors. Sebastian turned off the car and turned to Zoe,

"Are you ready?" Sebastian asked,

"I guess"

"Let's go then" Sebastian and Zoe got out of the car and made their way into the doctor's office. "Hello I am here with my daughter Zoe Stan, she has an appointment to get her cast off"

"Alright, it will be about five minutes please have a seat"

"Thank you" Sebastian and Zoe went into the waiting room, Zoe's leg was bouncing up and down in anticipation, "are you okay?" Sebastian asked,

"Fine, just nervous"

"There is nothing to be nervous about, they are going to take your cast off do some quick x-rays and send us on our way, quick easy painless"

"I hope so"

"Zoe Stan" The nurse said,

"That's me" Zoe said while exhaling, Sebastian and Zoe stood up and followed the nurse into a backroom,

"Alright, let's get this cast off of you," the nurse said. Zoe turned to Sebastian as the nurse was getting everything out,

"Can I hold your hand dad?" Zoe asked,

"Absolutely sweetie" Sebastian stuck out his hand and let Zoe's clamp around it. The nurse turned back to the two of them,

"Okay ms. Zoe, I am going to get this cast off and we will go straight into x-rays, does that sound good?"

"Yes"

"Amazing" the nurse took her saw and cut through Zoe's cast. Zoe held her breath until the nurse was done, "you did spectacular, let's go do those x-rays"

"Can my dad come?" Zoe asked,

"Unfortunately he has to stay here"

"You will be okay sweetheart, and I will be right here when you get back"

"Okay dad" Zoe got off the bed and walked out (on her crutches) with the nurse. When they got back Zoe's foot felt like it had a pulse.

"There's my brave girl, how did the x-rays go?"

"I'm not sure, the nurse looked at them and her face changed"

"Oh, well I'm sure it's nothing" as Sebastian lifted Zoe onto his lap and nurse can back in but with a doctor this time,

"Okay, I have a few questions before we come to a conclusion" the nurse said getting straight to the point,

"Alright, go for it" Sebastian said,

"Did Zoe get a surgery done, or anything to help with the healing process?"

"No, the doctor put the cast on and sent us out"

"Well then I have come to a conclusion, we are going to put Zoe back in the boot she was in before her cast and I am going to have you come back in about a week, I'll also prescribe some painkillers that you can pick up"

"What is going on?" Zoe asked,

"The way you broke your foot made it so it not only needed to be popped back into place but we also need to correct the way your bones are healing, so ms. Zoe, you need surgery."
