Chapter 39: Life and Death

"Logan?" Dan Tae was surprised to see Logan alive.

"Let go of my wife and my daughter now, Joo Dan Tae!" Logan angrily said. Dan Tae pulled up his gun and pointed it to Sooryeon.

"Eomma!!"

Logan was shocked to see Seokhoon and Seokkyung. "I told you to stay at home! It is very dangerous to be here." Logan said but Seokhoon ignored what Logan said. "I can't just stay at home doing nothing while my sister and parent's lives are in danger," he said.

"Dan Tae-ssi, put down the gun. Sooryeon didn't do anything to you. Just let go of my wife and Cheon Seo Jin, let go of my daughter right now!" Logan pleads but they don't listen. "Let go? Sooryeon's parents killed my mother and sister. She has to pay for what happened to my family." Joo dan tae said as he remembered how his mother and sister were killed.

"You are wrong, Baek Junki!!" Another voice came from the back. "My name is Joo Dan Tae!!! Not Baek Junki!!" Dan Tae crazily shouted.

"Baek Junki! It wasn't Sooryeon's parents who killed your mother and sister. Her parents didn't know anything. Her parents don't know that someone died at the place where Jakomo was built. So put down your gun and just fight with me instead Baek Junki!" The real Joo Dan Tae telling the whole truth to the real Baek Junki. The real Baek Junki weakens to hear the real truth and tears fall down when he remembers how his family died. "All I want is justice for my family." Joo dan tae said and he slowly put down his gun. "But how you seek justice is very wrong. Killing and making others suffer is not the solution for you to get justice." Logan explained. On the other was Cheon Seojin holding Hyein. "Eomma, I'll go with you. I promise you.. Just let go of Hyein." Eunbyul begs her mother to let go of Hyein. "Seojin-ssi, it's not Hyein's fault. It is all my fault. Just let go of that kid." Yoonchul interrupts.

"Just promise me Eunbyul-ah that you will go with your mother. Please, Eunbyul-ah.." Seojin replied. Eunbyul is taking her step to Seojin and trying to move the gun away from Seojin. "Eomma, jebal.. Please let go of that gun.. " Eunbyul said. Seojin slowly put down the gun.

The cops and SWAT team were already prepared if something would happen.

Sooryeon slowly stood up and ran towards Logan. "Appa! " Seokhoon shouted. "Appa, just surrender. Stop doing bad things. " Joo Dan Tae looked at his son. Joo Dan Tae's evilness was awakened. "Yah! I won't surrender. Not until all of you will die. Seokhoon-ah, come to appa." Joo Dan Tae begging Seokhoon, Seokhoon shrugged his head. "Appa, jebal-yo... Just surrender and do the right thing this time.." Seokhoon said. "Dan tae-ssi, please stop this." Sooryeon said, Dan Tae looked at her. And remembered Na Aegyo. "I lost my woman because of you, Shim Sooryeon!!" Joo Dan Tae holds his gun and points it again to Shim Sooryeon. Seokhoon goes in front to protect his mother. "Appa! Aniya. Don't do it." Seokhoon begs. Logan went in front to protect his wife and son. "Joo Dan Tae, put down that gun right now!!" Logan shouted. "Aniya!!!" Joo Dan Tae insisted. And point it to them. The cops and the SWAT team entered the place and secured the kids and Hyein. The cops were about to arrest Seojin when she held her handgun again and pulled the trigger. A loud bang was heard all over the place. "Hyein!!! Eunbyul!!!" Seojin was trying to break free from the cops who were holding her. " Eunbyul-ah..Let go of me, please let me see my daughter..." Seojin pleads.

When Seojin pulled the trigger and pointed it to Hyein, Eunbyul used her body to protect Hyein from the bullet. Eunbyul was shot.

"Unnie..." Hyein trembled when she saw Eunbyul covered by blood. "Unnie... Please stay awake.. Okay? Don't close your eyes.. Jebal.." Yoonchul went to Hyein and touched Eunbyul "Eunbyul-ah, jebal. Stay with appa. Don't leave appa, okay? " Yoonchul begs. The cops brought Seojin out while Seojin still pleaded to see her daughter. "Appa... Just let eomma be in jail. Don't hurt her, please?" Eunbyul, trying to speak, and Yoonchul nods. "Hyein-ah, you proved to me again that I deserve to be happy... Please forget this day.. Hyein-ah.." Eunbyul looks at Hyein who is currently holding her. Seokkkyung and the other adults already called the ambulance to rescue Eunbyul. Eunbyul smiled at Hyein and to her father and slowly closed her eyes.

If I die today, I wish to meet Seol A in heaven and ask forgiveness personally. Eunbyul's last thought.

On the other side was Dan Tae was still holding his gun. Seokkyung went to her family's side, Sooryeon protected her daughter while Logan protected Seokhoon. The laser gun and the gun were also pointing at Joo Dan Tae. He pulled the trigger and a loud bang was heard again...

"Eomma! Appa!!" Seokkyung and Seokhoon shouted and held their parents. Another loud bang was heard and this time it was Joo Dan Tae who was on the floor covered by his own blood. Before he closed his eyes, he looked at his son crying over Logan. Appa is sorry, Seokhoon-ah.

" Eomma, appa! Don't leave us, Jebal.." Seokkyung said. Hyein went to her siblings and saw another traumatic scene. She fainted and the adults helped her through and ran to the hospital. The ambulance came for Logan and Sooryeon, Eunbyul was already brought to the hospital. The adults were shocked to see Logan and Sooryeon being covered by blood. Joo Dan Tae died while Logan Sooryeon, Eunbyul were in the middle of life and death.

Logan and Sooryeon were shot while protecting their children. Joo Dan Tae aimed for Sooryeon but Seokhoon protected Sooryeon when he pulled the trigger , Logan catched the bullet and protects Seokhoon when he pulled the trigger again he was about to shoot Seokkyung but Sooryeon protected Seokkyung. They were now on the bridge of death.

Logan saw Sooryeon's lying down, he held her hand and slowly closed his eyes. Sooryeon felt a hand holding her and she smiled towards her children and looked at Logan after and also slowly closed her eyes.

The kids went with their parents while the ambulance brought them to the hospital. "Eomma, appa.. Jebal.. Please live.. " Seokkyung crying while holding her parents' hands. "It's all our fault. If we didn't go to that place, this thing wouldn't happen. If only we listened to the both of you." Seokhoon said, blaming himself for what happened. Seokkyung looked at her brother and remembered what happened to his own father. "Oppa, what about Joo dan tae.." Seokhoon looked at his sister. "It makes me sad that he wasn't able to pay for all the things he did. But maybe that was the end of his evilness. " Seokhoon answered. Seokkyung nodded and looked again at her parents, praying they'll survive.
