Mizu_Sakana the other nations discover Alfred is great with a katana

_________________________________________________________________

Alfred had fallen in love with Japanese culture the moment he encountered it. He was no stranger to obsessive behavior, and everybody knew Alfred was very quick to fanboy over the newest things. So, when he discovered there were nations other than European ones, his siblings, and cousins to talk to, he flipped. He had met China first at a meeting, since the meeting was taking place in Russia and China thought the journey was worth it. The elder nation saw the blonde as a optimistic fool with naive thoughts of politics. However, he couldn't help that motherly instinct that came to him when regarding younger nations. Especially, one as young and new as Alfred.

Then, there was the Koreas. They had been at that same meeting by China's side. Yong Soo seemed to be madly in love with Alfred, clinging to him like a lifeline. While, Hyung Soo seemed apprehensive about the new nation. Sure, they were physically the same age. But, that didn't mean Alfred was truly this airheaded little boy all of Europe seemed to think he was. He didn't like his twin brother hanging on the blonde, but he couldn't pry the two apart. Eventually, Hyung Soo understood when he too got an embrace from the blonde. The new nation was like a furnace, and Hyung Soo clung to that warmth the entire meeting.

Mongolia, Nepal, Malaysia, Thailand,  and Singapore also seemed to take a liking to Alfred. He was interested in their history, their food, and their culture. Most of Europe has described Alfred as an 'intelligent, kind-hearted innocent who loves to explore new experiences'. He was nothing like his big brother, England, who had made a notable amount of enemies due to his stubbornness to keep things his way. Alfred also didn't possess a violent bone in his body, despite his super strength. He was genuinely a pacifist at first, and to the modern day only fought when needed.

Which is why when Kiku once challenged Alfred to a duel, nobody expected the blonde to be very good.

Yes, Alfred was great with combat despite his rather lazy and peaceful nature. His military was his pride and joy, out of anything his country could contribute, true warriors were his go to. But, that wasn't swords, that was hand to hand combat, or guns. Alfred loved guns more than Switzerland, it was a bonding activity for the two of them to go to a range just to talk about or shoot guns. But, swords?

"I would never expect our little Alfred to be good a swordsmanship~" Francis commented as he sat in between Canada and England. The two nations decided to duel in the meeting hall's small sensory area, where there were multiple couches and mats. Kiku had a long briefcase, no doubt having a well crafted katana at his disposal. Hell, Kiku had a whole display wall at his home of all his priceless katanas. When Kiku opened the briefcase, he pulled out a long katana with a wrapped blade. At that point, many of the nations had sat themselves on the multiple couches, just waiting for Alfred to arrive. And he did a few moments later, with an equally well wrapped long katana on a belt. Alfred gently took out his katana, getting into his battle stance.

"You got terms, Keeks? Or am I just guessing?" Alfred snarked as he pointed his blade at Kiku. Kiku merely smiled as he did the same.

"First to receive three points wins," Japan stated before lunging at Alfred. Alfred swiftly blocked it with the katana's hilt before swiftly dodging, twirling the katana around his palm, before taking the hilt and jabbing it into the back of Kiku's neck.

"Guess I got one point," Alfred snarked as Kiku turned around, the two blades clashing despite being wrapped. Kiku growled and went at Alfred again, this time with multiple jabs, but Alfred blocked every single one before spinning on his heel, stabbing the hilt into Kiku's back, "that's two~" Alfred teased.

"Wow~ America is great with a sword!" Italy praised with sparkles in his eyes. Germany nodded, seeming to be in thought.

"Zat is very veird, I never thought America vould be good at zis sort of thing," Russia simply shrugged with a dopey smile on his face.

"America is a combative master, da? I think it makes perfect sense. Despite his sweet face, he is a well oiled machine! His super strength allows him to be lean, giving him both strength and stealth. Ideally, swordsmanship works well in his favor. Additionally, sword fighting is one of France's favorite forms of combat. And America does think of France in high regard," China also butted in, sitting on the arm of the chair between England and Italy.

"Along with that, America likes exploring new cultures. He took a special liking to Japan, hence why he pestered him all those years to open his border. I wonder what this duel is for," Canada shrugged.

"I wouldn't be surprised if this is aboot a new anime they've been binging, or a new game they've been playing," England scoffed and rolled his eyes.

"Either way, the git should know better than to play with swords. They always caught his eye as a colony, and I did sign him up for fencing lessons when he was young. He knows how to take proper care of them, I haven't seem him use a sword in decades," Romano seemed to smirk as he saw Alfred once again dodge Kiku and use his blade to block Kiku.

"The bastard seems to still have a lot of skill. Japan is a katana master in both craft and combat, the fact the burger bastard is on his level is a testament to his strength and devotion to combat," Prussia gave a smirk and puffed up his chest.

"Even as a runty little colony, he had zat fighting spirit! I trained zat military for veeks, und his varrior spirit never dimmed! I'm proud he's kept up his vays!" just as he said that, Alfred took Kiku down by swiping his leg roundhouse style, tripping Kiku onto his butt. That's when Alfred's katana came blade to face with Kiku, and Alfred gently booped his nose.

"Good duel, Kiku. But," he offered a hand, the raven haired man taking it as the blonde pulled him up, "is there a reason you decided to duel me?" Kiku's face went red. He couldn't tell Alfred it was because he had secretly his a camera and need Alfred for reference for a new manga. There was no other excuse in his brain, though, so Kiku merely shrugged.

"Needed to get some energy out, thank you, Arfred," he bowed respectfully while Alfred bowed back.
