Lithuania had overheard Russia's song, finding himself feel incredible guilt. This entire time, he and all the other 'family members' of the USSR thought Ivan wanted this. But, after hearing him call out of Alfred, he couldn't help but shed a few tears.
He quickly ran into the dining room so that he could inform everyone of what he had just learned, but he didn't get a chance. Prussia had kicked in the door, which was used as a servants' entrance. He was covered in snow, but a large lump laid on his shoulders. Prussia didn't even stop to answer questions, he just ran up to his room.
Prussia swiftly flew up the stairs, careful not to make such a clamor. Opening his door with a quiet creak, he made sure he was truly alone before beginning to work. He took the baggage on his shoulder and laid it on his bed.
And by 'it', I mean 'him'.
Prussia had been out hunting for food when he heard some familiar singing, so naturally he followed it. He saw the footprints of military boots in the snow, boots that had an imprint of the American flag on them. This only furthered Prussia search, as a fire had lit in his eyes.
When he came upon the nearly frozen Alfred against the tree, he wasted no time. He dove down and began to shake him, tears brimming in his eyes.
"Alfred! Mein Gott! Alfred vake up!!!" when he recieved no reply, he picked him up and ran back to the mansion, "please don't leave me Alfred, I vill save you. I'm awesome, I can do it!"
He stripped Alfred bare, tossing the soaked clothing to the side. He layered Alfred in some of his own clothing, as well as many blankets. Whatever his room could spare to him, went to Alfred. He began to start a fire in his fireplace, trying so hard to keep his awesome friend warm. He craddled Alfred, intent on protecting him if Ivan were to come in the room.
Every night at this time, Ivan would just stroll in to beat him up. But, not this time, of no. This time...
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
Prussia was startled by the loud knocking.
"Gilbert, I must speak with you now, da?" Ivan's voice was threateningly deep, but held a soft tone, "tonight I will not beat you, this I promise. But, I must inquire information," he continued to knock loudly on the door.
"Nein! I vill not open mein door!" the knocking stopped momentarily before a harsh pounding came next, shattering the door to splinters. Ivan's aura began to illuminate around the room, filling it quickly.
"You will answer my questions, da?" though worded like a question, it most certainly was a command. Gilbert held Alfred closer as his red eyes narrowed, he growled like a mother bear protecting her cub.
"Nein!" Gilbert shouted. Ivan began to step closer, his eyes empty as ever, when suddenly he took notice of the bundle of blankets in the albino's arms. Gilbert saw his gaze change from him to Alfred, making him snarl like a wild animal.
"Is...that..."
"I vill not let you hurt him! So, jou von't get him! Jou'll have to pry him from mein awesome corpse!" Gilbert held Alfred closer, intent on fighting. But, instead, Ivan knelt down. His eyes began to shine with life as he gazed at Alfred.
He went to touch him, but Prussia snatched his wrist. That's when Lithuania came in and saw what was happening.
"Gilbert, please stop! Just let him touch Alfred!" the albino nearly choked on the phrase.
"VHAT ZE HELL IS ZE MATTER VITH JOU!!! I ZOUGHT JOU LIKED ALFRED!!!"
"I do, but just trust me! You never trusted me before, but I know how to deal with Ivan. Please, let him go!" Prussia looked at Lithuania and sighed, gently letting go of Ivan's wrist. Ivan continued his motion towards Alfred, feeling the cold and still slightly wet hair between his fingers.
"He will not heal properly in this condition. We must get him warmer," Ivan spoke softly, as if he was afraid that if he spoke too loud, he would hurt America. He held his arms out, silently asking for him. With much hesitance, Gilbert handed the younger over.
Ivan carried Alfred to the living room, where he proceeded to give Alfred warm towels, lining the clothing with heating pads, and rewrapping him into a burrito. He placed the younger in his lap and gently stroked his hair, the large fireplace crackling besides them.
Ivan stayed their, refusing to eat when Katyusha made dinner and refusing sleep when Eduard told him it was late. During the middle of the night, Ivan found himself becoming himself again. The longer he held America, the more of his government hypnosis wore off. Perhaps that was why they didn't want Alfred near him.
It was close to three AM when Ivan finally did it, he finally gulped down his fear. He licked his lips and slowly moved Alfred's head towards his own. He finally felt Alfred's lips mesh together with passion, breathing in the cold air from his lungs and giving him warmth. The breathing soon turned to kissing, and that kissing turned passionate.
Alfred had begun to squirm while Ivan was kissing him, making Ivan stop. His face was right near his as the rare blue eyes opened, revealing a certain murkiness from the water. Alfred's felt a breath on his lips as a nose brushed along his own. He felt a hand cup his face as another brushed the hair from his forehead.
His vision began to clear and the foggy figure above him became all too familiar.
"V-Vanya?" Ivan felt tears prick his eyes.
"Da, sunflower?" he whispered, holding his face closer.
"I m-missed you,"
"Shh,shh, shh. Rest, Kryptonite," Alfred chuckled and cuddled into Ivan's chest.
"Sure thing, Superman,"
