This oneshot is going to be a blind!america oneshot.

Now, a quick personal history lesson. I dated a blind man for nearly two years and we were very serious. We were at the point in our relationship where he would most likely propose to me (I was 20, now 21). Case in point, I know from personal experience how to write a blind character. My ex (yes he's my ex) was a very independent person and never let his disabilities hinder him. I'm going to write like how my ex was in terms of his disability. I understand every blind person acts different and has their own system, but I'm using my personal experience.

Thank you!

America was a strong nation, a very strong nation. I mean, he grew to be the youngest superpower in the world within a century. Many nations admired him, some for looks and some for power. Many of the elder male nations respected him, including Switzerland and Russia. He was the first white nation to ever establish not just economical, but also personal friendships with the Asian nations. The first Asian nation he befriended being China, which shocked all the European countries. America had wealth, family, friends, power, and respect. He had the world in the palm of his hands.

But, none of them know just how much respect America deserves. You see, America went to his first world meeting in 1790 and appeared at every single one up until 1814. Many thought it was because of the war going on between England and America, which caused a lot of the nations to frown upon the older European nation. In a sense, they were correct. But it wasn't the military work that kept America busy, it was learning to cope with his newly inflicted blindness.

America had been working to get everybody out of the White House as it burned to the ground. Once he was sure everybody was safe he began to escape the blaze. Sadly, before he reached the clearing, a beam collapsed and smacked America in the back of the skull. The last thing America remembered seeing was England holding a torch, laughing while Canada was quietly whimpering behind him.

James Madison became worried when Alfred did not return to their designated hideout and sent search parties to find him. When they returned, Madison was in tears. America was in awful condition. His burnt and bloody body smelt of char and he was covered in soot. He and the medical teams nursed Alfred's wounds until America awoke three days later. To everyone's surprise, Alfred began to cry as he kept feeling around. When Madison asked what was wrong, America replied with the most terrifying whisper he could ever muster.

"Boss, I can't see,"

Madison's heart broke at the distraught nature of his nation. So, he hired the best instructors he could find. He was going to make sure America came back from this and became stronger. He ended up traveling to France to bring back the best of the best. America was taught how to read braille, memorize surroundings, and basically adapt to his world. He worked on his progress for almost a decade, when he finally perfected his abilities.

After a few years of meetings, he was finally adjusted to the nations. America didn't need a cane or dog, he was able to use his sense of smell to identify others, and he even worked on typing when technology advanced. Nobody ever knew about America's blindness.

America never forgave England for taking his sight away. How could anybody forgive that? Which is what made this one particular argument so impactful. It was the World Conference in Paris that his secret came out. This is where we begin our tale.
