Amelia had just walked away from a local food stand with another soldier. Her blonde hair was tucked into her helmet as she happily bit into her lamb kebab. The other soldier bit into his chicken kebab and hummed in delight.

"Yo, Jones, I think this stuff could definitely make boo-koo bucks if someone opened a stand in New York City. Like a legit Afghan kebab stand could really bring some light to their soiled rep,"

"I wouldn't mind an Afghan restaurant in New York City. But I think all the Israelites would. Jews and Muslims don't get along well in the back streets, adding to the fact Afghanistan and Isreal don't have very promising diplomatic relations it might spell out disaster. However, if you put something like this in PA or Jersey, it might fare better considering the lack of Middle Eastern cuisine restaurants," Amelia took another bite and licked her lips. A small group of boys was kicking around a soccer ball when the eldest kicked it too hard. It landed right as Amelia's feet, so she smiled as she playfully kicked it back. One of the smaller boys ran up to them just as Amelia finished her kebab. He tugged her hand and spoke English pretty well.

"Join us, please. I never played with an American before," he was such as sweet boy. America was decked head-to-toe in her uniform, so she was already carrying a lot of weight. But she happily nodded and waved to her comrade, letting him go back to the base.

"Jones! Be back at the base by sundown!"

"Will do, Krew!" Amelia smiled and began to play soccer with the boys. She was out there for a few hours and soon realized the rapidly setting sun. She knelt down to the small boy, "I have to get back to the base now. Let's meet here again tomorrow at noon to play more!" she happily invited, the group of boys nodding before they all went their separate ways.

The next day rolled around and Amelia was waiting at the same place. Only the small boy showed up to play, but he looked really sad.

"American soldier, you must run. The elder boys told them of our plans," he whispered. Amelia was confused and knelt down to the boy.

"What are you-"

BOOM

A huge ball of fire erupted from behind them and the building quickly filled with smoke. Screams echoed loudly and Amelia shot up. She was about to run in, but the boy grabbed her hand.

"No! Don't go in! It's dangerous!" the boy begged sadly.

"Stay out here, I'll be right back!" Amelia demanded as she ran in. She was able to bring out a dozen people and went back in to do a final search. She was about to leave when she heard a piercing scream. She recognized it as the little boy and ran to him. She found him under a wooden beam and quickly lifted it up with her super-strength. She used the last bit of her wiggle room to snag his shirt and pull him from the rubble and dropped the beam, "I told you to stay outside,"

"I wanted to rescue you!" he squeaked as more rubble fell onto them. Amelia knew the building was about to come down, so using her immortality to her advantage she shielded the boy under her. The building caved in with the flames, crushing the two in the rubble.

Hours passed and Amelia suddenly felt the weight of the heavy stone being lifted from her. As soon as the crushing piece was tossed off them, she passed out from exhaustion. There stood Asadi Abdul, the personification of Afghanistan. He knelt down and picked up the boy, who was still alive thanks to Amelia. Asadi began to walk away but the boy quickly squirmed, reaching back to Amelia.
