I hope you all enjoy my starlings!

(PS: it's called 2.1 because there's going to be a second part to it)

It had been a while since the news came out. Nearly a decade passed since the announcement that all nations on the globe were in fact personified people. The general public was finally told the truth. Why did this happen? Who leaked such secretive information? What happened afterward? Well, dear readers, I will answer these questions for you.

...

Unfortunately, the reason as to why this was happening was because a third World War was about to engulf the world. Hate became an increasing problem across Europe, and it was so contagious it even engulfed Asia and Africa. To prevent World War Three, the American government decided, with permission from Alfred, that it was time to reveal the Earth's best-kept secrets, them. He asked the prime minister of Canada if he would also go along with this plan, and he happily agreed. Coming onto live international TV, the president announced a few special guests to join him on the stage. Canada's prime minister, Canada, and America all stepped on stage. Alfred and Matthew were not told how they were going to prove themselves, but they quickly found out when both Canada and America were pierced from behind through the heart. The crowd erupted in panic, and all around the world people began to screech in horror. The other nations were of course watching, gaping at the two nations being stabbed on LIVE TV! However, the crowd quieted down when they noticed America and Canada did not die. They were still just standing in shock, looking at their wounds.

"Dude! Not cool! At least give us a heads up before you try something like that!" America yelled as he wiped his mouth of blood. The crowd was in awe as Canada rolled his eyes and patted America's back.

"I'm sorry Canada, I really did want to tell you. But America's boss made me keep it a secret," the prime minister explained, wiping America and Canada's face. The crowd began to murmur about why the prime minister just addressed this teenage boy as 'Canada' and why his brother 'America' was reacting strangely to being stabbed. Canada chuckled and shrugged his shoulders.

"Don't worry aboot it, eh. If it helps prevent a war who am I to argue?" Canada smiled softly. America was still beet red with embarrassment. The president turned to the crowd, silencing them.

"You heard correct. People of the world, these two boys are in fact the living personifications of the nations Canada and the United States of America. Matthew Williams," Canada bowed his head, "and Alfred Freedom Jones," Alfred nodded with a small smile and waved, "as the world braces for a third World War, the prime minister and I decided this was the best option for us to take in order to avoid it. All nations have personifications, and all of them feel the pain and hate that is generated by us as their citizens. Nations, our nations, our homes, are people just like us. The only difference they live and see the pain of centuries, doomed to only obey the orders of their people. Citizens of the Earth, do you honestly wish harm and hate upon those who do not have a choice? Must we fight in war to decide a victor? These boys have seen their time of war, especially Alfred. Are we going to go to war again for literally nothing?! Answer me people of the world! Will you harm these people, who are just like we are, because of petty differences?!" the world erupted with a chorus of "NO's" in many languages. It was so loud and powerful the International Space Station picked it up on their radar.

After a few months, all nations became known to the public. Of course, at the first world meeting since the announcement, they received an earful from all nations. But in the end, they were thanked. Many of their bosses had called off attacks because of the outcries of their citizens. World War III had been prevented! Laws were put in place so that the nations could remain safe, such as to not approach them as if they were celebrities. Simply walking up to them and asking for a selfie was fine, an autograph was good too! But under no circumstances were citizens allowed to ask for personal information like phone numbers, and anybody caught trespassing on their estates whether they were occupied or not were charged.
