These are just some of my personal headcanons

1. America actually died in the aftermath of the burning of DC in 1814. His kids just covered his ass with the other nations. Only four nations know the truth, but never EVER speak of it.

Prussia- he found out when Noah (PA) cried in his arms. Prussia had been visiting America for a surprise just a mere day after it happened. When he knocked on America's door, he was met with a bandaged Blair (DC). He stormed into the house and Noah ran into his arms. At the time they were only seven, so Prussia quickly picked up Noah. He was told everything and Prussia, for the first time in his awesome life, wanted to wipe a country from the Earth. Sure he's wanted to conquer lands, but NEVER has he wanted to utterly destroy one.

Hungary- Hungary found out from Prussia, with Alfred's permission. It happened not long after receiving the rest of the children after the Civil War. She finally found the courage to ask Blair about her scar over her eye. Blair looked to America, who was cradling a newborn Alaska. He nodded to Blair, and the truth came out. She was outraged at England and instantly felt awful for prying. She also cried but composed herself quickly.

Belarus- Belarus found out by accident when she saw old designs for a tombstone with Alfred's name. She had been cleaning the attic when she came across the folder filled with death documents. This included Alfred's death certificate, designs for his tombstone, as well as the location of the grave. In her free time, she visited the supposed grave only to find a willow tree in its place. Confused, she was startled when Alfred tapped her shoulder. He figured she had found the documents and quickly told her the story. He then went on to say once he was reborn they dug up the casket and found nothing but a seed. They planted the seed in place of his old grave and now use it as a reminder of life rising from death.

Russia- as soon as it happened, a small four-year-old Louisiana poofed away. None of the states knew where she went and she was missing for two days. She had used her magic to poof to somewhere she thought would be safe. She had read about Russia and America being friends, so she poofed to Ivan's house. Appearing on his front porch in her loose and burnt clothes, Russia was floored of the small state on his doorstep. When he brought her in she told him everything, about her mama, was dead. He was still confused until he realized that this tiny girl was a state! Louisiana poofed both of them together to the house, and Russia saw America's casket. He was torn to shreds and fell to his knees, crying out for the ancestors and General Winter to bring him back. He couldn't even stand on his own feet. Russia stayed in a hotel, not wanting to be near Prussia. But as soon as Alfred came back, Russia's depression ceased.

2. America's favorite uncle is Scotland. America admired Allistor's bravery, strength, and cunning. But he also loved that the moment they met, Scotland was more than a hard nut who bullied his 'big brother'. Scotland taught America the importance of nature, despite his awareness of it due to Native America. Scotland also taught America archery, some cooking, and poker. America had his first drink with Scotland when America had just won his independence. He gave America a bottle of aged whiskey as a present, and the two proceeded to drink the entire thing. Prussia walked in on them, Scotland piss drunk and America totally sober.

3. America fears only three things: war, being hated, and being abandoned.

He hates war because he has seen what war has done. He was raised with England and France but noticed during the French and Indian War that they began to fight and disagree more. Then, when America became independent they simply just fought on everything. He knows that war and grudges just make the world bitter, not better. He fears that war will destroy his relationships like it did to his parents for a long time.

He fears being hated because he endured so much bullying. During the Great Depression, he was constantly berated and insults became an everyday thing. He had become a workaholic during those years because he didn't want the others to hate him anymore. It got to the point where Alfred rarely slept and stopped eating. Even after the Depression ended he did anything to be liked, including oral favors. He just wanted to be liked, not even loved. Because what he felt during the Depression was something he NEVER wanted to feel again.

He fears abandonment because it's been a constant thing in his life. He was abandoned when Native America died, he was constantly abandoned by England, France and Canada eventually fell out of touch after his independence. The only person who has been through his life was his pet eagle, Catori and best friend wendigo, Igor. When Alfred feels abandoned he begins to cry so harshly the only thing that calms him down is when he falls asleep. He fears being alone and loves that his states are always by his side.

4. America can cook really well. America is a medling pot of cultures, which has given him a weird sense of taste. But that shouldn't determine his culinary ability. He can cook and bake basically anything since he learned from different people throughout history. His favorite things to cook are pot roast, stew, and grilled cheese. The house favorite with the states is his mac and cheese, handmade burgers, and any type of noodle. America's favorite food is burgers, but not beef. He likes his bison burgers better or even his tofu burgers.

5. America is actually pansexual, not bisexual. I feel like America is the type of person who will love you no matter who or what you identify as. While yes, many think him to be an oblivious person in terms of love. I feel he would still love a person, even if they identified as a goldfish. America is just an open heart.

6. America hates pumpkin spice. He hates the craze to the point where is he sees something ridiculous labeled pumpkin spice, he'll purchase it just to donate it. He once saw pumpkin spice peeps, so he bought them and burned them in his fireplace. His home smelt like vanilla for weeks afterward.

7. America can play many instruments and is skilled in chess. I feel that America would have picked up on chess growing up by watching England and George Washington play. He also picked up instruments over the years, and can play almost everything! This also stems from the amount of diverse music in his nation.

8. America has magic! Not England's magic, but Native America's magic. He can control elements, nature, and animals. He also has the ability to speak and help spirits who are trapped in the living world.

9. America has been burnt at the stake, hung at the gallows, and buried alive. During the puritan days, in the period after Native America and before England, America was burnt at the stake after being accused of being a witch. The same reason was why he was hung, but it was after England discovered him. America was buried alive after becoming independent when people questioned why he didn't age. John Adams, George Washington, and Alexander Hamilton spent two hours digging him back up.

10. Russia and America are married and have a child together. America was the only nation who was always kind to Russia. He never feared him, hated him, or talked harshly about him. So Russia finally found a friend in America and visited him often. When the Civil War was about to start, America had been whipped by a slave owner and the wound's blood formed Confederacy. Confederacy, who was named Buck because of his size, eventually convinced some states to move in with him. When Russia made a surprise visit, he saw the exhaustion on America's face and took him stargazing. America told Russia everything, confessing he was scared of dying. Russia then confessed he would protect him and told him of his feelings. America returned the feelings and they began to have some...fun... America soon became pregnant with Russia's child, which was why Russia aided the Union. Prussia and Hungary helped America during the pregnancy, as did Russia. And soon enough, with the help of Hungary, he birthed a baby girl. They named her Anastasia, and she would soon represent Alaska.

That's all for now!

xoxo starlings!
