chapter nine

Legolas POV
It had been three days since my father had told me that I was to marry Princess Araniel. I was now shooting arrows and taking my anger out on the targets. Thunk the arrow landed dead center. I was about to pull another arrow from my quiver when I heard a comotion come from the gates. I ignored it assuming that another patrol had returned and continued shooting. When Herion burst through the doors, his face was flushed, I raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong?" I asked
"Nellathiel, she has returned," he said "Only Nellathiel" I questioned while hastily picking up my arrows, he nodded. We where walking to my fathers study, when we arrived all my fathers advisors were there along with my father. Sitting at the other end of the long table was Nellathiel and Arthion. She had cuts on her face, but they had obviously been treated by the healers. I walked over to her and Arthion and sat down next to them. "Legolas?" asked Nellathiel I turned around and hugged and she hugged back. But before I pulled away she whispered the words I had been wanting to hear for the past week and a half in my ear "She's okay," she pulled back and gave me a sad smile which I returned. Someone cleared their throat and everyone turned to look at my father. "Nellathiel, it is very good to have you back and like everyone else in this room I would like to know what happened," said my ada. Nellathiel nodded "Thank you my lord I am happy to be back." she said and continued "It all started when we were attacked by orcs, we were fighting and then I was knocked out. I woke up in a dark room and when I woke up Tauriel was there. Then an orc came and took me away, they took me to an orc, I believe he was the leader. He tortured me for about an hour but wont go into details. I passed out and I woke when I was being carried back to the room. Once they got to the room they left me there and took Tauriel. For the next hour and a half all I heard were Tauriel's screams. They tortured us for imformation about the Woodland Realm and its royal family, but we never gave in but it always resulted in an hour or longer torture session, daily. After being there for over week, we were both brought to the leader and he said he was going to let one of us go. Tauriel volunteered to stay straight away. I tried to convince her other wise but she wouldn't listen. When she came to say goodbye she told me to live a happy life, to get married and have children if I so desired. She was talking as if she was never coming back. She also asked me to deliver a message to someone." she said the last part in a whisper. She then turned to me and said in a whisper only I could hear "She loves you Legolas."
