Tauriel POV
Today we had all been called for a meeting in the king's study. I was sitting next to Legolas and he was gripping my hand under the table. "You are all probably wondering why we are gathered here today," spoke Thranduil in his baritone voice, we all nodded "well Galadriel, Celeborn and myself have something to announce, Legolas and Araniel you are to wed!" My jaw dropped in shock, Legolas was about to say something but Araniel beat him to it "No!" she yelled, everyones head turned towards her. "I will not marry him! I am sick of everyone controlling my life! Why can I not marry someone who I deem worthy! I will not marry someone I do not love! I love someone else! And I would give up my rank to be with him!" she yelled, tears streaming down her face. "You are in love with someone else," it was Galadriel who spoke this time. "Yes, I am in love with a commoner, and I am not the only one. I have seen Legolas and Tauriel together and they love each other and they deserve to be together!" she screamed. I was shocked when had she seen us together but what shocked me further was that she was in love with a commoner. "Who are you in love with Araniel?" asked Celeborn, Araniel stood up straighter and said "Haldir, I am in love with Haldir and there is nothing you can do about it." she spoke with confidence this time and after she had said that every head turned to Haldir. Haldir was sitting, his face emotionless but his eyes showed pride. Then Thranduil spoke up "Tauriel and Legolas is it true?" all eyes were on us now. Legolas stood up and so did I, our hands were still clasped. "Yes it is true, Ada" said Legolas, I nodded along. "Then I give you two my blessing" he said shocking us both. I turned to Legolas and embraced him. Araniel and Haldir were also embracing so they must have been given a blessing as well. We all sat down with smiles on our faces.
