chapter twenty three

Legolas POV
We completed the quest and now we were heading to Valinor. I on the deck of the boat looking out at the ocean. We were to arrive in Valinor tomorrow which meant I would see Tauriel again. I was extremely excited but nervous at the same time "What has your knickers in a twist?" yelled Gimli as he strode up next to me. Gimli and I had hated each other at first but now we were best friends. I laughed at his joke but did not reply "Frodo has invited us for desert in his room" he said I nodded and he lead the way to Frodo's room.
I woke up the next day with a spring in my step. I was grinning all the way down to breakfast and at about lunch time we reached the undying lands. I was walking behind Gimli and Frodo as I got off the boat. Then I saw her. She stood out from everyone else with her fiery red hair. I grinned not for the first time that day. Once we were off the boat and on land, I practically ran to where Tauriel was. She hadn't noticed me sneak up on her, so I swept her off her feet. She yelped but then saw who it was and grinned. I put her back on her feet then put my forhead against my own "I missed you" she said I laughed and then kissed her. She kissed me back and it soon turned into a passionate kiss. I deepened the kiss. She pulled away from the kiss reluctantly to breathe. She smiled and laughed, I embraced her. "Let's go somewhere" she said breathlessly "Where?" she smilled and started leading.me through the crowds and towards what looked like a forest. There was a path going through it. Tauriel lead me through the trees until we reached a clearing. In the middle of it was a beautiful house and a stream also ran through it. I gave Tauriel a questioning glance and she grinned "What is this place?" I asked, "Our new home" she said. I looked at her and smiled because we could be finally be together. There was no one stopping us and Tauriel was no longer sick. I leant down and kissed her lips "Home" I said and lead her into the house.

Gimli POV
I went to turn to Legolas but he wasn't there. "Where is Legolas, Frodo?" I asked the hobbit "He can not have gone to far, don't fret, Gimli" he said
The next day we were eating breakfast with Elrond, Galadriel and Thranduil who I had recently learnt was Legolas father. I still had not seen Legolas but no one was worrying over it. Then an elven lass with fiery red hair walked into the room. She was wearing a green dress with leaves embroided on it. "Ah, Tauriel it is nice for you to finally grace us with your presence" said Elrond, she smiled and sat down next to me. "Let me introduce Tauriel" spoke Elrond. I smiled at her. "Where is Legolas" asked Frodo. "He is still asleep" said Tauriel, I turned my head towards her. "Does he know that there is a breakfast this morning," asked Thranduil, just as she was about to answer "Yes, I do know" someone said and Legolas walked into the room and sat next to Tauriel. His hair was messier than usual and he looked quite tired. "You look terrible this morning elf" I said he smiled and said "I didn't sleep well last night," he said. Tauriel snorted, for what reason I do not know. "I'm sure that is exactly what happened Legolas" said Thranduil. "Well would Frodo and Gimli like a tour of the Undying Lands?" questioned Galadriel. "What about Legolas?" I asked, she smiled "I do not think we will see much of Legolas today" she spoke knowingly. "Why ever not?" I said "I am sure Legolas wants to spend the day with Tauriel after being separated for so long" she answered. I looked over to Legolas and he nodded.
After Galadriel had given us a tour of Valinor Frodo and I were wondering aimlessly when we came across a group of elves. We found Legolas among them and walked ocer to him. "What are all these elves doing here?" asked Frodo. "Apparenty they are all sparing with each other" he said. "Lets get Legolas to fight our champion so far!" yelled an elf. "Yes lets get Tauriel and Legolas to spar!" said another. Legolas started walking to the center of the circle and pulled out his twin daggers. The elleth who sat next to me at breakfast also walked to the center. She was no longer wearing her dress but rather hunting leathers, she also pulled out her blades. It was silly to think that a dainty elleth like her self could beat Legolas. They started circling each other and then the fight began. Legolas made the first move and she dodged it well. They had soon disarmed each other and were now wrestling, when suddenly she had pinned Legolas to the ground. She whispered something to him and he smiled "You two should just get married, you would make such a cute couple!" squealed an elleth. Legolas and Tauriel looked at each othet and grinned. Tauriel stood up and Legolas got on one knee "Tauriel you are the love of my life. Will you marry me?" Tauriel grinned "Ofcouse, I will" she said. Legolas stood up and kissed her. I was shocked Legolas had just proposed to someone he had only known for day and they had said yes. Then the elleth who had said they should get married spoke up "I was only joking you know" she said. Legolas and Tauriel burst into laughter "We are already engaged" Tauriel said through her fits of laughter. There were a series of whats and gasps which only made them laugh harder. I soon realised what Galadriel had meant by Legolas wanting to spend the day with Tauriel.
