chapter twelve

Tauriel POV
I woke up in the bed in the healing halls. I had fallen asleep after the healers had tended to all my injuries. I felt almost better, almost. I was still having coughing fits and vomiting. The healers had told that they had cured everything else except for the poison in my blood, only three healers knew about it as nobody knew I was here except the three healers, Herion, the king and the group of patrol elves that saved me. Suddenly the door opened and in walked Thranduil. "My lord, Thranduil," I said as I sat up. He nodded and sat in the chair next to my bed. "Tauriel you don't know how worried I have been in your absence," he said "you of all people know I consider you as a daughter Tauriel." I was shocked so I did the only thing I could at that moment, I hugged him. When we separated he spoke up again "Tauriel what happened when Nellathiel left?" I sighed in relief Nella had returned. "I'm sure Nella filled you in on what happened before she left," he nodded "well when when she left the torturing remained the same for three days, on the third day without her, I was taken to the torture room as usual. But this time the leader tied me to a chair, he had a dagger which he dipped in a a bowl of liquid that was next to me. I later learned that this was poison, not a normal one but a slow killing poison. He cut straight into my vains. It is in my blood Thranduil, it has already taken affect. I am vomiting and coughing constantly, I'm sick, very sick and it is highly possible that I am going to die." I said. He gave me sad smile "Can you keep this between us and the healers Thranduil, please?" I asked. He squeezed my hand and nodded "You have suffered much Tauriel when the healers release you come to my dining room you will have dinner with me. We have guests you know the Lothlorien royal family." he said I nodded and he walked out the door.

Legolas POV
I had spent the day with Araniel again today. She was nice but I still didn't want to marry her tonight we would all dine together. My father, myself and the captain, I wasn't sure who would be attending as the captain. Lady Galadriel, Lord Celeborn, Araniel and Haldir would also be attending. I was right now walking Araniel back to her chambers to so she could get ready for tonight. When we reached her door I kissed her hand and said I would pick her up in an hour. When I reached my own chambers, I put on a cream coloured tunic. I sat layed down on my bed and before I knew it, it was time to go. I jumped up and ran to Araniel's door. I knocked lightly and when she opened her door she was wearing a light blue gown. We walked down to the dining room and we still had a few minutes spear, but my father would be there anyway. I heard voices from inside the doors, someone else must have gotten here early. I pushed the doors open and the voices stopped immediately. My father looked up "Ah, Legolas it is nice of you to join us and you to Araniel." he said I smiled at him in return. I turned my head to see who the other person was. When I saw who it was I nearly screamed. Sitting in the chair next to my father was Tauriel. She was wearing a dark blue and gold dress, she looked stunning. "Tauriel?" I stuttered she smiled at me "When, how...?" I asked she chuckled lightly "I got back yesterday and how I got back I will tell you another time," she trailed off. The dining room started filling up. I was sitting next to Tauriel and Araniel sat next to Haldir. I was gripping Tauriels hand underneath the table. Everyone was making small talk throught out dinner when suddenly Tauriel spoke up "My lord Thranduil do you mind if I excuse myself?" she asked, she had become visibly paler. "Not all Tauriel." said my father with a knowing look Tauriel stood up and walked off hurriedly.
