RanVeer: Will Fate Bring Them Together?

Chapter 17

Recap: Digvijay told the family that it was Rani who had saved his life and Rani is going through the shock of knowing her dad could get hanged soon.

After spending some time with her father, Ramadeer suggested that it was best to go back home since her family must be worried. Rani unwillingly had to leave and she found a rickshaw to get back to the Palace. When she entered, she saw everyone sitting in the living room waiting for someone. Was it her? Then she saw Dgivijay with a look of pity on his face. Did this mean her truth was revealed? Stressed, Rani walked into the house not knowing what to do. Veer heard her walk and rushed to the door.

Veer: "Rani! Aap kahan gayi thi? Aap theek ho?"

(Rani! Where did you go? Are you alright?)

Even though Rani wanted to spill all her troubles to him, she could tell that something was wrong, so she pushed it to the side and said:

Rani: "Ji, Dakter Saab, sab theek hai. Main khali Bauji ko milne gayi thi. Kaa hua hai? Aap sab kyun pareshan lag rahe ho?"

(Yes, Dakter Saab, everything is okay. I just went to go meet my dad. What happened? Why do you all look so stressed?)

Veer: "Rani, yeh main kya suna Papa se? Huh? Aap mujse jhoot bholi?'

(Rani, what am I hearing from Dad? Huh? You lied to me?)

Rani thought that all the truth had come out, she didn't know what to say.

Rani: "Woh meh toh khali dhimak se-"

(I just did what I knew in my mind-)

Digvijay cut her off. He knew that she believed everyone knew the whole truth and to help her out, he had to save this situation.

Digvijay: "Rani! Uh, Rani joh bhol rahi hai ke maine uske Veer ki khitab dhikayi aur woh pictures dekh kar mujhe CPR di. Hai na?"

(Rani! Uh, what Rani is trying to say is that I showed her Veer's books and she saw the pictures and gave me CPR. Right?)

Rani understood what her father-in-law had done. She looked at him with so much love and appreciation and he respectfully nodded.

Veer: "Achha, lekin aap ne mujhe kyun nahi bataya? Yeh bohot achhi baat hai. Thank you Rani."

(Okay, but why didn't you tell me? This was a great thing. Thank you, Rani.)

Rani: "Saarii Dakter Saab."

(Sorry Dakter Saab.)

Vikram came in to break the tension.

Vikram: "Accha accha, aap sab senti mat hona. Bhabisa, thank you!!!"

(Okay, okay, all of you don't be so sentimental. Thank you, sister-in-law!!!)

She smiled and then Dadisa suggested that Rani go up and take a shower and relax. Rani agreed and went upstairs, still stressed about her father's life. She knew that she had to tell someone, but who? Then it clicked with her: Vikram, a.k.a Deverji (brother-in-law). He was almost a lawyer and still studying. It would just work out! She was going to run to him, but she passed through a mirror and was disgusted by her reflection. Clearly, Dadisa was right when mentioning she should go and freshen up. Rani decided to take a nice shower and change her outfit. She came out of the bathroom, drying her hair with a towel when she saw Dakter Saab sitting in his chair. He heard her steps and turned towards her. Matters had still been a bit tense from when he had left and gotten drunk, but Veer hoped he could clear it out. He got up and walked towards her, remembering how supportive she had behaved with him when he was heartbroken and how she had been going through so much. They were finally standing inches apart and Rani didn't know what to do.

Suddenly, Veer hugged her! He had so many emotions pent up in him that didn't know what to do. Shocked, Rani started crying. She hugged him back and this way they both apologized to each other for everything that had happened. Soon, they heard 2 knocks on the door and someone teasingly clearing their throat. Vikram, of course!

Vikram: "Ahem, ahem. Sorry, kya mein aap dono ko disturb kar raha hoon? Main badme aa sakta hoon."

(Ahem, ahem. Sorry, am I disturbing both of you? I can come back later.)

Veer let go of Rani immediately and she did the same. They couldn't look each other in the eye. Rani looked down in embarrassment and Veer glared at Vikram, giving him a deathly stare. Vikram had to clear the air.

Vikram: "Woh Bhabisa ne mujhe bulayi thi, actually."

(Actually, my sister-in-law had called me.)

Rani looked up remembering when she asked Kumud to send Vikram after some time.

Rani: "Uh, ji Devarji. Mujhe aap se kuch baat kar ni thi."

(Uh, yes brother-in-law. I wanted to speak to you about something.)

They both looked at Veer to leave the room, but he denied it.

Veer: "Nahi Rani, aap meri patni ho. Jo bhi baat hai, mere saamne karna parenga."

(No Rani, you are my wife. Whatever you want to say, you need to say in front of me.)

Rani nodded and began.

Rani: "Aaj main bauji se milne ke liye gayi thi kyunki mujhe kuch accha nahi lag raha tha. Aur jab main gayi, mujhe pata chala ke bauji ka case fast track ho gaya hai aur agar hum bauji ko nirdosh nahi karenge, toh unko phasi ho jayegi..."

(Today I went to go meet my father because I just wasn't feeling alright. And when I went, I found out that his case has become fast-tracked and if we don't prove him innocent, then he will be hanged...)

She was in tears once again and the brothers were left shocked.

Rani: "Devarji, main kya karu? Aap ke paas kuch idea hai? Bauji bhol rahe hai ke unho ne hi yeh gunah kiye hai, lekin mujhe pata hai ke woh ye kabhi bhi nahi kar sakte hai."

(Brother-in-law, what do I do? Do you have any ideas? Dad says that he has done this crime, but I know that he could never have done such a thing.)

Vikram suggested that they go and find some proof from the accident spot and maybe something would come up. They all agreed and decided to go.

Unfortunately, there was nothing to prove that someone else had done the accident, but Rani suggested they check the store nearby if they have security footage from that night.

They went in and explained the situation. The man knew that they were Prince's and immediately agreed to show them. With heavy hearts, they told him the date and time of the accident and watched the corner of the street. There was a man driving the Rajawat car, someone was there. He zoomed it in and they were all relieved. It was not Ramadeer, but some other random drunk man. They thanked the man and took that tape to show as proof in jail. They went to the police station and showed Vijay the tape. He agreed that Ramadeer was innocent and he was released from the cell. Rani hugged her dad tightly and they all felt so much better.

Hahaha! Just joking, don't worry you guys, there is still a lot more to go. But surprise! Here I am, so so so so sorry for the huge break I took. Honestly, other than being super busy, I had no motivation to write. I just want to say a big thank you to  for motivating me to continue. Hopefully, I will get back to a schedule, but I knew I had to publish an immediate chapter. Also, my apologies if the story seems like it was too quick, but now there will be some big reveal so the story can take off.
