After Veer had taken Rani to rest, Nandini tightly hugged her mother.
Nandini: "Mom!"
She sobbed.
Nandini: "Mujhe pata tha ke kuch gharbhar thi. Thank god woh Rani aagayi. Lekin beechari ladki na? Hume uska khayal rakhna chaiye. Matlab uske dad already jail mein hain na, toh uske bohot kaam nahi karna chaiye."
(I knew that something was wrong. Thank god that Rani came. But poor girl, yeah? We should take proper care of her. I mean her dad is already in jail, so she shouldn't do so much work.)
Rajeshwari let go of her daughter immediately.
Rajeshwari: "Nandini. Tumne theek kaha ke Rani time par aagaye, lekin woh beechari nahi hai. Woh naukar ki bheti hai toh woh naukar hi rahengi."
(Nandini. You said it right that it was good Rani came on time, but she isn't one to pity for. She is a servant's daughter and so she is also a servant.)
Nandini: "Lekin mom-"
(But mom-)
Ranisa put her finger up, shushing them all.
Rajeshwari: "That's it."
Ranisa walked out of the room. Then, Veer walked back up the stairs after taking care of Rani's wrist. Vikram noticed him first, with his eyes all swollen up.
Vikram: "Bro. Aap theek ho? Aapne toh bohot acha kaam kiya hai aaj. Aap bhi fresh ho kar aaye dinner ke liye."
(Bro, are you alright? You have done a very good deed today. You should also freshen up and then come for dinner.)
Veer nodded at his brother and went up to his room. As he washed his face, he was thinking about Rani. He was a little confused. When he saw Rani in such a condition, he felt so much anger and the need to save her. It wasn't that he wouldn't want to save any other girl, but when he saw Rani it was different. It didn't make any sense, but he felt happy that he reached her in time before anything else could've happened.
----
They all ate their dinner and wished each other goodnight. Before going to his room, Veer decided to go and check on Rani once more. He also needed to re-apply cream on her wrist, so it was a good excuse. He really just wanted to see if she was alright.
Veer: "Rani. Aap sohi nahi ab tak?"
(Rani. You haven't slept yet?)
Rani: "Nahi Dakter Saab. Mujhe neend nahi aayi."
(No Dakter Saab. I didn't feel tired.)
Veer: "Theek hai. Abhi aap bhet jaye toh mein aapki dressing kar leta hoon."
(Alright. Now you sit down so that I can do your dressing.)
Rani sat down on her bed and Veer took a hold of her wrist. He unwrapped the bandage and looked at the bruise. It was getting worse and Veer felt so bad.
Veer: "Rani, mein bohot sorry hoon. Agar mein woh phone call nahi liya toh phir aap toh woh Jai Singh ke paas jathi bhi nahi."
(Rani I am very sorry. If I didn't receive that phone call, then you wouldn't have gone to Jai Singh.)
Rani was confused.
Rani: "Matlab? Kaunsa phone call?"
(What do you mean? What phone call?)
Veer felt a little embarrassed. How should he tell her that he was following her? That he was worried about her? He took a deep breath and said the truth.
