Veer woke up the next morning looking straight at his palm. He noticed something dark brown and he was grossed out about what could've been on his hand.
He opened his eyes and noticed...the letter R. All the memories came flooding back to him. And he soon realized that the mehndi colour was so strong and dark. It was basically unbelievable!
He had to hide it otherwise everyone would freak out. He got up quickly and got ready to leave for the hospital.
Now, Rani had an awesome sleep. Her mind kept thinking about how caring Dakter Saab was and she really wanted to know how his mehndi would turn out.
She helped all the others get ready for breakfast and she went to serve it on the table. She saw that Veer was already leaving without even eating anything. He was talking about getting to the hospital urgently.
Everyone had bid him goodbye and he was walking to his car. Rani really wanted to see his hand, so she went to Ranisa with an idea.
Rani: "Ranisa, woh Dakter Saab kuch khaaye nahi hai toh mein unko khaana pack karke dehthi hoon. Kya yeh theek hoenga?"
(Ranisa, Dakter Saab hasn't eaten anything, so if I pack him some food and go give it will it be fine?)
Rajeshwari didn't like that Rani was actually being sensible, but she had to agree.
Rajeshwari: "Theek hai, lekin jaldi Karna. Ghar par bahut kaam para hai."
(Sure, but be quick. There is a lot of work to do at home.)
Rani nodded and ran to the kitchen to grab the lunch bag that she had already packed, hoping Veer hadn't left yet.
Thankfully, when Rani reached the parking lot, Veer had just started to reverse the car, so silly Rani decided to stand right behind the car.
If Veer ran her over, then it's his fault.
Before he crashed into her, he got out of the car with confusion all over his face.
Veer: "Rani? Ab kya Hua?"
(Rani? Now what's happened?)
Rani: "Khaana! Meh aapke liye khaana pack kar ke layi hoon. Lehlo"
(Food! I packed food and brought it for you. Take it.)
Veer held out his hand to take the bag and Rani saw it. Bold and dark...the letter R. Now, she didn't know what this meant, but she felt a little good on the inside. She smiled to herself and ran off from Veer.
Veer had no clue what Rani had been up to, but he was getting late for work, and getting late was bad. So he quickly left.
----
Rani wiped the sweat off her forehead and walked to the servant's quarters. It had been a long day and she couldn't work anymore. As she was going back down, she heard Nandini and Ranisa talking.
Nandini: "Mom, mujhe yeh shaadi nahi karni hai. Aap ko pata hai, main bohot choti hoon abhi. Yeh sab kyu?"
(Mom, I don't want to do this marriage. You know this, I'm still very young. Why are you doing all this?)
Rajeshwari: "Nandini, Prince Jai Singh ek bohot ache ghar se hai. Khali ek baar unse milo toh sahi. Mere liye."
(Nandini, Price Jai Singh is from a very good family. Just meet him once. Just for me.)
Nandini just walked away. She didn't want to marry a prince, but it wasn't like she had an option anyways. Prince Jai was coming to meet her today!
