⚠️. Jacen’s POV
It has been two hours since we left the convenience store. It sounded more of an inconvenient than a convenient one because we got into one hell of a fight with those horde of monsters.
Hindi ko nga inakala na makakapatay ako ng sobrang dami kanina eh ito kasing si Stormy, bigla bigla na lang binigay sa akin baril niya kaya wala ako magawa kundi sundin sila.
But I did as told, I acted as Collin’s backup lalo na tuwing kumukuha siya ng bala sa mga bulsa niya. Hindi ko naman pwede hayaan mga kasama namin kasi kami kami lang din ang magtutulungan dito.
Speaking of tulungan, I’m thankful that Millan let us stay with them. Even if we’re already at a situation where we don’t know saan matatapos o kailan matatapos ang mga nangyayari rito.
Both Stormy and I were grateful that Millan offered to help and got us out of Darkmore Hospital. Sobrang hirap na rin kasi kami sa lugar na yun at tanging si Mills lang ang nakakaalam nito kasi nga, parte raw ng plano ni De'Clan na mawalan kami ng trabaho.
I couldn’t understand what was the reason behind but Mills once said that everyone she’s related to ay idadamay ni Cameron, so that includes me and Stormy.
Hindi ko talaga alam ano pumapasok sa utak ng scientist na yan, pero ang alam ko inggit na inggit ito kay Millan at Collin because of how successful their works are and how they were always recognized by the world.
Something must’ve hit Cameron right in the nerve just by observing those. But seeing someone being successful from their own hardships and efforts does not give her the actual rights to destroy everything Millan loved.
“Shit. They closed the roads already” napatingin ako sa harapan ng van at akmang tinitigan ang tinuro ng driver namin.
“Meron pa ba ibang daan sa bayan bukod dito?” tanong ko sa kanila. I’ve been here a couple of times but since I don’t even live here, I’m barely familiar with the whole city.
“Wala na, sinara na rin ang main road at ito na lang yung daan pabalik sa laboratory” imik ni Collin sa unahan bago matahimik ang lahat sa loob.
Ito na naman, isa na namang pagsubok ang ibinigay sa amin kung kelan kakatapos lang nung kanina. Para kaming pinagmamadali sa nangyayari at pinapahirapan.
Ang buhay ay hindi karera!
As of now, buti walang humahabol sa amin kasi kung meron man ay baka patay na kaming lahat dito ngayon.
“We have no choice then” Grazer spoke breaking the deafening silence around us.
“What do you mean by that?” Mavis asks as we waited for an answer.
Grazer looked at the rearview mirror before answering. “We have to go by feet” she went out of the van followed by Collin herself.
Mavis stared at the front na para bang hindi ito sigurado sa ginagawa ng mga kaibigan niya, pero lumabas din agad ito kasunod ko.
“Teka, hindi natin kasunod si Millan” Asteria spoke. We glanced at the road behind us and there were no sign of Millan.
Millan was ahead of us when we left the store but since I fell asleep, hindi ko na pala namalayan na yung van namin ang nauna kanina sa daan.
