⚠️. Sage’s POV

“W-wait! Gr-grazer huwag!” itinulak ako nito nang malakas bago lumayo sa akin at tuluyan nang tumakbo sa nasusunog na parte ng tulay.

I froze from my spot when she ran away. She was about to get attacked by few of the zombies from the other side of the bridge, when I felt someone ran past me.

The person ran in a swift move as if it was like dashing into a bee line, almost in a rush to get somewhere. I turned to see who it was and to my surprise, Millan is already there grasping Grazer’s  shoulder as she pulled her back from falling into the pit of flames engulfing the rest of the undead.

I saw Grazer’s confused face. She was in complete utter shock knowing that Millan almost risked her life for her, just to save her from getting burned with the zombies.

Both of them ran back to where I stood and I felt another hand taking me away from the scene. Ate Asteria took me to the rest of the girls and asked my well-being.

Well, I was. Not after Grazer pulled that heroic stunt in front of me but is saved by another hero instead.

“Raze, what were you thinking? you could’ve died” Ate Mavis asked in the most softest way possible because they know the fact that Grazer doesn’t like being yelled at.

I walked to her and pulled her in for hug while I felt my cheeks getting wet from the sudden tears flowing down my face.

She hugged me back without saying a word in which I understand. She was still in shock and was probably traumatized about the gas being spilled on her pants while having a thought of dying along with the zombies because of it.

“I’m sorry, I don’t know what has go-gotten into me when I realized the gas also leaked on my pants a-and I thought about breaking the bridge by letting them t-take me” Grazer explained while stuttering.

The rest assured her that her idea was a smart one, but it doesn’t mean that she has to die with them and leave us mourning for her.

“We’re all in this together okay? Please, ayokong may mawala sa kahit sino sa inyo” Ate Collin said before hugging both me and Grazer.

The atmosphere suddenly turned gloomy, the amount of sobs can be heard and the downcast looks of each other never faded, not until the bridge made a breaking sound that broke the moment.

We turned to the bridge being torned down little by little by the fire scattering around the sides of it. The railings broke when few zombies jumped on it, hoping to get to our side but unfortunately, it already fell when the weight couldn’t hold them much longer.

“We should get going na before someone passes by” imik ni Ate Jacen at nagpatuloy na kami sa paglalakad.

I only stopped walking when I remembered that Grazer is still wearing her pants that reeked of gas. I halted them from walking and told Grazer to at least change, just in case she doesn’t get in another trouble with those pants of hers.

“God, Sage! stop staring at Raze! nagmumukha kang manya—” bago pa ituloy ni Ate Mavis sasabihin niya ay tinakpan ni Ate Collin bibig niya.

Alam ko naman ibig niya sabihin pero kasi I can’t stop looking out for Grazer, not after what happened earlier. Siguro naging overprotective ako bigla sa kaniya kahit alam ko na siya yung mas matanda sa aming dalawa.
