                                      SIERRA.

I have never felt so jetlagged in my entire life.

Am I exaggerating? No. I just want to get to my house and get some sleep. Mom and dad like the caring parents they are, bought me a huge house over here in Southern California all to myself. It has a lot of security per say.

I'm driving through the streets of California and can't help comparing it to New York. New York is as busy as this place but there is a difference. This place is livelier and has the fun vibe about it but in New York, it's packed with business people wherever you look speaking on their phones and stuff. For now, I intend to forget about this whole gang thing and concentrate on settling here. Never know I could make some friends.

According to the directions I was given by my parents, I'm driving through a street full of luxurious houses and I can't help but wonder if these people even have any parties or something because it's too quiet over here. I scoff at that. New York is ever noisy and I loved the parties the gang members threw. They were not so normal because they had to kill an enemy at the end of every party...yeah ruthless but I got used to watching though I still can't kill anyone. I'm a scaredy cat according to my gang friends but at least mom and dad are okay with it. Infact, that's why they sent me away...to avoid getting into those ugly ways. I would love to attend normal parties and go to public school unlike the homeschool I have been doing my whole life. I pull up infront of said huge house after getting lost a few times. It's a grey condo-like house with a curb at the front and a short white gate. It has a small walkway towards the front door with some flowers on either side and some parking space on the side. It's homey...all of it. From the house to the outdoors....this must have been mom's idea and I smile at that already missing my mom. She knew I would hate it if there was some kind of huge intimidating gate and all. I make a mental note to call her after settling in my new house.

Six hours have passed and I'm passed out on the new couch. "I can't do this anymore." I groan. I have tried arranging the essentials like the living room, kitchen and my bedroom and I feel like I might die from exhaustion. This place is so huge but I think it's almost the same size as the house back at home and that says a lot. The furniture was already put in so all I had to do was dust and mop the floors and clean the kitchen wardrobes and bedroom stuff, put my clothes in the walk in closet...yeah.

I move to my bedroom to shower after locking down the whole house with the updated security dad had his men install for my safety. I make my bubble bath just the way I like it. I sit in the big tub that can fit more than two people and can't help but groan at the relaxation I'm feeling. The warm water soothes my aching muscles and I stay like that for half an hour. I finally leave the tub after more thirty minutes and decide to cook something before I die of hunger. I haven't eaten since morning because I didn't have the appetite and my nerves got the best of me.

I check the fridge and feel my world tear apart...practically. It's empty. Of course. I forgot to get some groceries on my way here. Ugh.

I change from my booty shorts and big shirt into sweatpants and a tank top with a black jacket on top and grab my phone and keys. I step out of the door and the March air greets me so I tighten the jacket around myself.

After locking the house and getting in my black Mustang, mom calls and I connect her to the car's Bluetooth and her voice sounds throughout the car. "Hey baby." She says happily.

"Hey mom."

"Did you get there safely? How do you like the house? Don't worry the house is secured with the best security essentials we could get. How are you?" She rambles.

"Jeez mom I'm fine. I'm seventeen and I can take care of myself." I say with a smile. "And yes I reached safely plus this place is not so bad. It has life to it, you get what I mean? Thanks mom for....everything and I'm okay. How about you and dad?"    "That's good to hear and we are okay over here and your dad is in another meeting about those creeps" She snarls.

'Those creeps' are our rival gang...okay my parents' rival gang....the Wrigos. I don't know why they go by that name and yet they are called the Washingtons. They are equally as dangerous as my parents' gang....the Vice Lords. These two gangs have been rivals since I was around thirteen. It has a been a long feud but I'm not sure about how it started but it's not good at all. Our rival always wants to outcompete us at whatever we do and they also deal in drug trafficking, which my parents don't. That's how dangerous they are. They kill whoever gets in their way and definitely whoever is from the Vice Lords gang. I'm curious to know why dad is having another meeting on them.

"Why mom? Why is he in a meeting about those assholes?" I ask in a not so relaxed tone.

"Honey I'm not so sure but I'll call you and tell you whenever I find out okay? Bye gotta go. Love you." She ends the call. Huh. That was weird. I shrug it off and get on with my journey to the grocery store. I grab some cereals, Cheez-its and other foods and drinks not forgetting popcorn..man I love popcorn. Dad thinks it's an addiction, very funny. I buy whatever I'm supposed to buy and leave immediately to avoid recognition or something. I know there's a small possibility that any one here knows me but I can't help the paranoia. I get back home and blow out a breath while putting all my stuff on the kitchen counter. Mom calls again and I don't take more than a second to pick up.

"Mom?" She takes long to speak. "Hello...Mom?" This is scary. "Honey I have some news." She says quietly and I urge her to go on.

"He's there too."

I'm confused for a second and she continues. "The Washington son is there too..in California." I lose the grip on my glass of water I was holding and I cannot even say a word.

What?!
