                                   SIERRA.

It's already Tuesday and I'm freaking out.

Exams start this Friday and I'm not sure whether my parents will let me go back to school although I really want to graduate. I'm finally meeting Denver today now that my week of being grounded is done. I hope he is okay and I also want to know how everything is going with him. We're having our picnic today since we couldn't yesterday as he was needed for George's burial.

"Hey Den." I say when he picks my call.

"Hey sunshine. You ready?" A few minutes ago I felt really collected and ready but now that he has asked me, I feel like I'm not ready at all. I think I should change this outfit to something better, right? I probably look dumb in my tight black jeans, white longsleeved crewneck and brown long coat plus black ankle-high boots. It's becoming chilly outside since October is coming to an end.

"Um yeah, I think so." I reply.

"Cool. I'll be there in ten minutes to pick you."  Ten minutes?

"Okay." I squeak in terror and hang up the phone.

I look around my room looking for other clothes or something to do with my hands because I'm panicking. Come on Sia, it's not your first time hanging out with Denver. Relax. But I can't seem to listen to myself. I check my makeup in the mirror five times before I sit on my bed agitated. I went for the nude lipgloss, a little mascara and black eyeliner...nothing too crazy. I get another call from Denver informing me he has arrived.

"I'm coming to the door." He tells me without leaving any gap for conversation.

"No. Denver you can't do that. My parents loathe you." I exclaim.

"They loathe my gang not me their daughter's bo...admirer." Was he going to say boyfriend? Eek! Calm down stupid burning cheeks.

"But...."

"Sia, I'm already at your door. You can't stop me now." He informs and hangs up leaving me gaping. I grab my small black bag I had already prepared with everything inside and make a run for it so that no one else opens the door except me. Right now, the guards must be at the headquarters, something about a meeting I heard mom talk about yesterday so at least I'm not worried about those attacking him. Dad is at work too so that leaves me and mom at home. I rush down the stairs and I'm going to open the door when I hear mom's demanding voice behind me coming from the kitchen.

"Sia? Where to?" She asks.

"Um to see...a friend from uh the....neighbourhood?" I ask unsure of myself. Wow Sia, seventeen and you still can't make up excuses fast enough. I mentally facepalm myself.

"Uh-huh. Who's at the door then?"

"I'll check and tell you on my way out." I tell her. Oh heavens, anyone that's listening, please make my mother stop poking for once. Just this once! Well, no one hears me I guess because now, mom is storming to the door.

"Actually, you know what, I'll see for myself," She pushes me aside lightly and opens the door herself. Fuck. My brain keeps repeating the curse word and I only get back to my senses when I see mom reach for her gun from her waistband.

Woah woah

My hand darts out grabbing hers from behind.

"Mom!" I yell in terror.

"What the hell are you doing?" She yells back as she pulls her hand back and it's easy for her since she is stronger than I am.

"What the hell are you doing? What is this?" I ask still in shock.
