SIERRA.
Oh God
Nerves....
I'm not so sure about this whole school thing anymore.
I keep thinking back to that call two days back with my mom. I can't believe that Washington guy is in Cali too. I thought I was now safe but noo sorry Sierra your luck is never enough. The worst part is I don't even know what he looks like....at all. What if he goes to this same high school. Oh no. What if? I think I might fall sick from all this pressure and I can't help but keep startling whenever something or someone touches or passes me. Deep breaths, Sierra.
I arrived at school a few minutes ago and I have never seen so many kids in one place, honestly. And I'm supposed to fit in? Wow. I'm still standing there looking at the school building when someone bumps into me and I can't help but jump thinking the guy found me. Honestly, with my luck, I wouldn't be shocked.
I turn around sharply to see some girl with blonde hair. She's pretty I'll give her that. She's wearing a black wrapper skirt and white crew neck plus some short wedges. "Sorry. I'm so sorry I bumped into you. These stupid shoes." She mumbles the last part to herself. She's funny.
"It's okay. I didn't fall at least." I reply and we both chuckle. "Hey I'm Brittney. Nice to meet you." She says with a confident smile not like the confused person she was few minutes ago. I'm kind of sceptical when making new friends because anything could happen. Plus, coming from a background like mine, you can't trust any one. I'll give this a try though. "Hello. I'm Sierra. Nice to meet you too." I reply with a smile which she returns.
"Are you new here? Never seen you before."
"Yes I'm new." I grimace as I look around.
"Oh, that's cool. I might be your first friend here if you wish...." That was an easy way to make a friend.
"Yeah sure. Thanks. I do need someone to show me to the bathroom and stuff." She laughs loudly. "Girl, you're a keeper. Wait till I introduce you to the rest." Woah I don't think I'm ready for that yet.
"Umm..." I start before she cuts me off.
"It's okay dont worry. They are okay. Wait you're in senior year right?"
"I hope so and yes I'm in senior year. Why?" I ask out of curiosity. "Same here boo. My group and I are in senior year too."
"Great." I reply while looking around as we enter the school building and walk through the long hallway. I see lockers, students....so many students wearing different things, some skimpy, some normal, some very long...guess those are the nerds they speak of. I myself am wearing a long sleeved black blouse and black jeans plus sneakers, no makeup just chapstick...yeah that's basically it. I dress to be comfortable not fashionable. Plus I thought this was the perfect fit for public high school and so far, I think I got that right as I have seen many people wearing jeans and stuff. Why are people staring too long? Never seen a new student? I scoff.
After walking a bit further down the broad hallway, Brittney leads me to one of the rooms that might be a classroom. That is confirmed when I walk in and see a white board infront among other things. There is no teacher yet but a large group of people in a corner seated on chairs and others on lockers. That seems intimidating as I stare at the people. There are about ten or more people over there. What if he's one of them? Am I just being paranoid? I shake away those thoughts from my head and let Brittney lead me to her friends.
"Hey goofs!" She hollers at them and they all turn and one guy, slim and tall throws popcorn at her while shouting "boo" and Brittney waves him off as he smiles brightly...too brightly. I think he might be the clown of the group. I love funny people though those are rare in my vicinity...given they are all gangy. Except for my parents..okay at least towards me.
