Chapter 18

"Are you okay?"

Natauhan ako sa malumanay na boses ni Athaleigh sa aking harapan. Nawala agad ang mga iniisip ko na parang bula. I forced a smile and nodded. She scanned my eyes for a while, checking if I'm telling the truth or not.

I can't help but to roll my eyes at her.

"I'm fine! Nice song by the way, it's interesting. I think it's my favorite now." Ngiting sabi ko, ngumiti rin ito ng tipid bago inilagay ang guitar sa sofa.

Pinanood ko lang siya ayusin iyon bago sumalampak ulit sa kama. Nakapatay na ang ilaw at ang liwanag na lang namin ay galing sa screen. Tumabi siya sa akin at tumaas ang balahibo ko nang dumikit ang balat namin sa isa't isa.

Leigh suggested to turn on the aircon in a low temperature even it's raining outside, masaya daw kasi kapag sobrang lamig habang nanonood. Hinayaan ko na lamang siya sa gusto niya since it's her condo naman.

Hindi ko mapigilan titigan ang mukha ni Leigh. Walang kabuhay buhay ang kanyang mga mata na nakatutok sa screen. Mahaba ang kanyang pilik mata, mapula ang labi at maputla ang mukha. Now I understand why people are getting interested in her, whether it's a girl or boy.

How funny to know that this woman beside me can pull two genders with a quick glance and smirk. She can pull everyone with her lusty eyes and sinful lips.

"Artemis," nagulat ako sa seryosong tono ni Leigh, nakaharap na pala ito sa akin kanina pa.

"Y-yeah?"

"Sabi ko kung plano mo ba titigan ako buong magdamag o manood." She said casually while staring at the screen.

Natigilan ako at umiwas ng tingin.

"Assumera, manonood syempre." Sabi ko kaya umangat na lang ang gilid ng labi niya.

"Alright, you can hug me if you get scared--"

"Seriously, Athena?!" I exhaled in disbelief. Natawa na lang siya at napailing.

Kinuha niya na ang remote. She played the movie on the screen so I kept silent. I admit the movie was good especially at the beginning, Cristine was right, it was a horrifying movie.

Seryoso lang rin si Leigh na nanonood. Nakasandal sa headboard ng kama habang ang comforter ay nakatakip sa kanyang ibaba. She's just wearing a green hoodie since it's cold and she's freaking adorable. Suot niya kasi ang hood ng hoodie.

Sa kalagitnaan ng movie, hindi ko maiwasan makaramdam ng takot. I feel the killers will come here! Especially the Ruby Lane freak!

"Oh, natatakot ka na?" Pang-aasar na tono ni Leigh. Nag salubong ang kilay ko habang nakatutok sa screen.

"Shut up." I muttered while watching.

I'm worried for the characters, how are they going to survive from the killers? They're many of them. You don't have any escape. I let out a breath and I almost screamed when the killers almost caught them.

"Damn, they're going to die for sure..." Bulong ko kaya napangiwi si Leigh.

Mabilis ako humarap kay Leigh na ngayon naka-focus din sa panonood.

"What would you do if the killers were chasing you?" I asked like a stupid child.

"Kill them." Maikling sabi niya kaya nahulog ang panga ko.

"You can't kill them, silly! They're the killers, not you!" I yelled but she just kept her serious expression.

"I have my ability, I'll rip their heads off easily." She said in a low tone. I rolled my eyes.
