Chapter 25

"Wait, dad." I said. Mabilis ako pumunta sa harapan niya kaya napahinto ito sa paglalakad at tumingin sa akin.

"Hmm?"

I clenched my fist. I'm still hesitating to ask him about that matter, because it might trigger his past. But I really need answers. 

I took a deep breath and I looked away. 

"Is Rolando involved with our case?" I asked. Nagulat siya sa aking sinabi. His eyes widened. 

There's a guy at my friend's birthday party. He has a suite there, away from our spot. He looks like a spy working under an illegal organization. He was sneaking at us until I got irritated. Pumasok siya sa kanyang suite pagkatapos mapansin ang matatalim kong titig. 

I used my ability to see through the blocks. I saw him doing something to his laptop, and unfortunately, my ability has limits so I couldn't see what was written on the laptop or what kind of information was showing there. 

But at least I heard a name in the middle of their conversation. And it was Rolando.

I know Rolando as my father's partner in business. They're not close friends but they're both professionals. But since that incident happened to our family, he vanished. It looks like he cut his connection with us. I was confused back then but I refused to think about it. 

Why did he suddenly vanish right after what happened to our family? 

Is it because he wanted safety and wanted to maintain his reputation clean... Or is it something else? 

I started suspecting him that he's one of them. He helped those corrupt and cruel Politicians to put my father in this kind of situation. He's one of them, he's with them when everyone framed my father up. 

Dad didn't respond which gave me a hint that I'm right. I gritted my teeth. 

"Is he one of them, then? Is that why he's gone now? He's one of those bastards!" I hissed. Panic plastered on his face. 

Lumapit siya sa akin at hinawakan ang pareho kong balikat. 

"Listen, kid. You're not going to mention his name in public, okay? Don't ever do that." He warned me. I scoffed.

"So, I'm right then?" I looked at him full of anger. 

He shook his head desperately. 

"No, you're wrong. He's not involved. Whatever it is, you're not in the position to know it." walang kabuhay buhay niyang sabi. 

"What?" Hindi makapaniwala kong usal. 

Tumalikod na ito sa akin at bumuntong hininga.

"And besides, this is not the matter you should worry about. You need to look out for yourselves because his targets are always the powerful ones." He stated in a final tone. He started to walk away from me with his private nurse guiding him.

Yourselves...

Does this mean I'm not the only one?

What the fuck does he mean by that? 

I know he's lying when he said that Rolando wasn't involved. He just knows what I'm capable of, he's aware that I'm not a normal kid like others. Based on his expression earlier, he also knows that I'm planning to do something already so he prevents me from doing it. 

And why would I need to be careful? Is he saying that Rolando knows about us? 

I shook my head and let out an amusing chuckle. 

That's impossible, no one is able to know our secret. Everyone doesn't have enough evidence to prove that.

He's just afraid that I might kill Rolando by myself and seek for the truth.
