Chapter 24

I just watched them as they continued their performance. I was clapping everytime the song finished, smiling widely. The people suggested another song and the boys couldn't resist them so they played another song.

Labag nga lang sa kalooban ni Athena. Nung sumigaw ang mga tao na isa pa, nagsalubong ang kilay niya. Aalis na sana siya sa harapan para pumunta sa table namin pero hinila na siya pabalik ng mga kaibigan niya.

I let out a chuckle and shook my head.

"They would make such a good band together, don't you think?"

Napatingin ako sa lalaki na nakatayo sa gilid ko. He's holding a glass of whiskey with his eyes on the front. I raised my eyebrows.

"But sadly, she said she doesn't want to spend her time on nonsense things." Kaswal niyang sabi at diretsong ininom ang nasa baso niya.

Binalik ko ang tingin ko sa harapan, I ignored him.

"Mind if I take a seat, lady?" Nagsalita na naman ito. I frowned and rolled my eyes.

"Sure." Bahid ng pagkairita sa tono ko.

He smiled genuinely and he sat down beside me. I grabbed my glass and drank the champagne elegantly. He was staring at me with a smile crept on his lips.

"Staring is rude." I cleared my throat. He let out a chuckle.

"Sorry, it became a habit. Harry Zane by the way, but people call me Harry. I'm Princeton's older brother." He's lending his hand in front of me.

Nagbuntong hininga ako

Hindi ko na mabilang kung ilang lalaki na ang nagpakilala sa akin sa araw na 'to.

"Nice to meet you. I'm not going to introduce myself anymore, since everyone already knows me." I shook his hand. I spoke without arrogance in my tone.

Natawa siya sa sinabi ko at bahagya napailing. Hindi makapaniwala sa sinabi ko.

"I'm expecting you to say that actually." Natatawang sabi niya. Napairap na lang ako at tumingin ulit sa harapan.

Nagulat ako nang makita na nakatitig pala sa amin si Leigh. Kumunot ang noo niya sa nakita at iniwas agad ang tingin sa akin. She strummed the strings aggressively.

I bit my bottom lip and gripped my glass.

"Are you friends with her?" Napatingin ako sa tanong ng katabi ko.

Nakangiti ito habang nasa harapan ang paningin. He looked like he's enjoying the show. Good for him.

"Or not?"

Nilipat nito ang tingin sa akin at sumilay ang ngisi sa labi niya na tinago niya sa likod ng kanyang kopita. It seems like he's reading my mind and getting a hint of something.

Why does everyone react like that? Is it really unbelievable to make friends with Athaleigh?

"What do you mean by not?" Mariin kong sabi kaya natawa ulit siya nang mahina. Yumuko siya at nilapag ang kopita sa mesa.

"I mean... If you two are more than friends. Like that." He licked his bottom lip.

I was shocked. I didn't expect that to come. My eyes widened but I immediately took my eyes off him. Does he know something about Leigh?

"No, we're just friends." Mahinahon na sabi ko at hinigpitan ang hawak sa dress.

"Really?"

Kumunot ang noo ko sa sinabi nito. Matalim ko ito tinignan.

"I just answered you and now you're asking me again?"

"Yeah right, sorry again. It's just that she doesn't treat you like she treats her other friends." He said casually.
