Awww, you still care

*Alexander's pov*

"Lucan, have I told you that you have really shitty timing?" He sighed and I looked at Aryanna who was staring at me questioningly.

"Yes many times considering I've spent almost my entire life with you but why this time? Did you touch her? Alexander I will kill you and you know I'm serious." I could hear the edge in his voice and I walked out of the kitchen leaving Aryanna alone.

"No I was not touching her. Earlier I did kiss her though and she seemed to love it." I just smirked as I heard his breathing get quicker and I could just see the look on his face like he wanted to kill me.

"Well good for you 'cuz I kissed her earlier today too so get in line. Look, this isn't why I called. We have a problem." I knew that it was something serious if he was calling me this late.

"Ok, what's wrong?"

"I have no clue what Ari's life has been like but there's a war coming. As much as I tried to leave and completely leave your stupid life I couldn't so I kept tabs on all of the rival gangs in the area."

That's definitely not what I was expecting and I'm sure it's serious but I still just want to mess with him a bit before all the serious talk. "Awww that's sweet. You couldn't stop thinking of me. I'm touched Lucan."

"Look that's not what this is about. There's a new gang popping up to the north. I don't know where they came from but they're teaming up with all of your rival gangs in the area and are hell bent on getting to you."

"I though you hated me Lucan. Glad to see you care." He just went silent and gave a small sigh.

"Look, I don't hate you but that's not my major problem right now." I could hear him shuffling around with something, "Alex, they're after Ari. They know that you're getting married soon and someone is informing them of everything. I've heard a lot of bad shit about Ari and I don't know what to make of it. I'm coming over to stay with you for a bit. Having both of us there will make us stronger and we can protect her better. I'll be there in 20."

After he hung up on me I threw my phone at the wall, "FUCK!".  I could hear the screen crack and I should've been worried but I wasn't. There was just too much to focus on and my phone just wasn't it.

"Hey, what's wrong?" I turned my head and saw Aryanna just standing in the doorway, "Sorry I didn't eavesdrop I just heard you yell and wanted to check on you." I could tell she was scared by the way she was as close to the wall as she could but she was trying her best to hide it and doing very well.

"No it's fine. I'll be alright. Go back to bed. We'll talk in the morning." I gave her a soft smile but she just stood there analyzing me before she sighed and left while Blue and Grey followed her.

Why her? She never did anything wrong. It's not because of me. If they were coming for me they would've come when they heard that my second in command left me. The only thing that's changed was her coming here. I can't push her away, it would drive me insane and she would be in more danger. There's no way I'm getting through this sober. I grabbed my whiskey and a glass with some ice. 

Just as I sat on the couch I heard the front door open. "Just invite yourself in I guess." I could hear a small snicker and I turned to look at my ex-bestfriend. He looked amazing but his hair was a mess which just showed how stressed he was.

"Well hello to you too Alexander. You look like shit." I just gave him a small laugh before turning back to my drink.

"Sorry but I just found out the people who hate me now also want to kill my fake wife." I could tell he froze up.

"What do you mean 'fake wife'" I laughed.

"Ahhh, so she didn't tell you. I'm guessing you ran off before she gave you a chance. Yeah I told her this was all fake to make my mom happy and bring our companies together." I drank the whiskey in one gulp and starting pouring myself another glass, "There's a few problems with that though. She likes you but that's not the worst one. She thinks she can trust us." I just laughed while Luca sat down next to me and poured himself a glass of whiskey as well.
