Jade's POV:
Two hands softly shaking my shoulders wake me up. I rub my eyes and push myself up on my arms, but I don't get very far. Two strong arms are wrapped around my waist, preventing me from moving. When I look under me, I can see Perrie still peacefully sleeping.
Then who the hell woke me up?
"Hey, babe." I turn my face and see my favourite afro next to me. "The nurse wants to check on Pez, but you are kind of blocking her way." She says teasingly.
I wriggle my body out of Perrie's grasp and follow Leigh-Anne outside. She stops right in front of the door and turns towards me.
"So, judging by the position I found you two in, I figure that you guys are all right?" I stretch my arms and legs, groaning at how sore my body is. Maybe sleeping like that wasn't the best idea after all.
"I'm not sure, to be honest. Yesterday, Perrie seemed angry or disappointed in me. But then, before we fell asleep, she was being so cute again. It feels like I just can't read her anymore and it's so frustrating." I answer truthfully.
Leigh hums pensively. "Maybe she just wasn't quite herself yet in the beginning?"
"No." I shake my head at my friend. "I asked her and she was feeling sober. Maybe she actually is just mad at me, because let's face it, Leigh, I should have noticed."
Leigh's hands grab my arms to make me look at her. "Jade, don't do that. Don't beat yourself up because you didn't notice. Maybe she is mad at you for that, or maybe it was just something else, either way, you can't change that anymore. All you can do is be here for her now."
A single tear runs down my cheek but is wiped away instantly and strong arms engulf me in a comforting hug. "You need to talk to her about all of this, babe. You'll only feel better after that."
I nod my head against Leigh's chest because I know she's right. As long as we don't talk about how all of this happened, we won't be able to get past it. Leigh and I stay hugging like this for a few minutes.
"Jade Thirlwall?" Leigh lets go of me so I can turn to the person calling my name. "Yeah, that's me," I say when I see the nurse that just left Perrie's room.
"Are you the roommate of Perrie Edwards?" My face falls at her question. Did Perrie really describe me as just her roommate? Reluctantly I nod my head at the nurse.
"Okay, good. Your roommate is free to go home now. I just had a little chat with Miss Edwards and she refuses to go to rehab. That isn't ideal, but since she hasn't been using for long, she can go through withdrawal at home." I nod my head again at the nurse. At least she still wants to go home.
"Just to be sure, I'm going to give you a flyer with all the info on withdrawal. The signs of her going through a rough time and aching for drugs, but also signs of her using again, so you can..."
"I am not going to use again." A cold voice speaks from behind the nurse. Perrie.
"That's good to hear, but I'm still going to give her all the info just in case." Perrie sighs heavily but makes her way to me and grabs my hand, interlocking our fingers. A smile creeps up my face at the feeling of her warm hand around mine and in the corner of my eye, I can see Leigh giving me a thumbs up.
We make our way to the front desk so Perrie can sign all the papers confirming her release. The second she's done, she grabs my hand again and my stomach does summersaults at her sudden need to have contact with me.
The blonde starts pulling me towards the exit when my name is called and we turn around. The nurse from earlier is speed walking to us with a big folder in her hand.
